This book just came out this month, I heard about it today on CNN.

Want to know what's really going on at your local public school? In FROM CRAYONS TO CONDOMS: THE UGLY TRUTH ABOUT AMERICA'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS, by WND Books, Steven Baldwin and Karen Holgate let parents, concerned teachers and students speak for themselves about the state of government education in America today.

The conclusion? That today's schools are laboratories for disaster, where failed methodologies and policies continually find new life, thanks to bureaucracies more interested in maintaining power than in educating.

Wow someone finally responded, thanks. No I have not, I have not seen it on a shelf anywhere here on the island either so I'll definitely have to order it when I get time to read something other than a university text.

While I'm not a fan of public schools, the fact that this book is promoted by Dr. Laura and Sean Hannity makes me highly skeptical.

Yea, I wouldn't trust "DR" Laura as far as I can bitch slap her. She is definitely a useless waste of vocal chords.

From the links provided, it seems that the book's biggest complaint against public schools is the exposure to tolerance, sex education and "the homosexual agenda".

Oh heavens no!

I think I've read enough. This book isn't worth the paper I wipe my ass with.

Why was this posted here? Did the OP honestly think any parents here would be offended by straightforeward education about sex and death or religious tolerance?

You've got to be kidding me!

The OP was a call for opinions back in June of 08 and asking if anyone had heard about it.
