Woo hoo! SS and I have auditions for the school play coming up in a few weeks, though I know we are both talented actors who can accomplish anything once we put our minds to it, I still think we get nervous:-p. So if you could some good luck energy I would be much obliged:):):)

I will send you both tons and tons of good energy. In the meanwhile, some reminders I would give you if you were my Acting I students:

1. Make sure you've read the play well enough not to be surprised at anything you're asked to read.

2. Regard the audition as just another opportunity to perform.

3. Really LISTEN to the person you read with, and respond to what they give you as honestly as you can.

4. Have fun doing it - if you are having a good time, nerves will be much easier to control.

5. If you screw something up, don't freak, just calmly go back and do it over, or skip on and dont worry. Everyone has those moments.

6. Whatever you do, don't psych yourselves out!!!

7. Remember - the director is really on your side, no matter how much it seems otherwise. The better you are, the easier her job is when she's casting.

Merde!
Azure, generally speaking, working actress

You're so lucky. I can never be in my schools musical because I have tennis (which I need to do so I can not take gym so I can be in choir). I got into the good choir and the jazz choir this year (the director and the choir teacher are the same person). I can do cew but that's it. :( Oh, well. I can still try out for the fall play. The best to you both! Have fun!

Best of luck to you! I have no chance of competing with Azure's list:) (I don't even act, I do music mostly)...I've just noticed that getting 20 minutes or so of excercise really helps cut down on nerves before auditions. And if, at the actual audition, you find yourself getting too worked up while waiting, I find is sometimes helps to just focus on breath awareness, like in meditation, to clear your mind briefly and bring back your perspective. Anyway, again, good luck!!

Much luck to the both of you!

I have fond memories of the one and only play I did in High School. I had a small talking part but was on stage several times. I just loved it!

Again, good luck to ya'll.
