Northern Cal could use some 'put out the fires' energy
We were hit with 800 lightning strikes last weekend and it sparked a lot of wildfires. Some of them have destroyed homes, others are threatening.
We could use a good rain...and some firefighter strength. these guys have been going for a week straight.

I heard about that....god it's going to be such a bad fire season. Rain dance indeed. Sending prayers for rain, firefighter strength and reinforcements if needed!

It's awful. I hope no fires happen down here, San Diego and surrounding areas. Sending firefighters strength and the energy to keep going...oh and to keep injuries at bay, protection. Prayers going out for rain, boy do we need it!

Part of me gets a little frustrated when people complain about natural disasters... The area is a hot zone (excuse the pun) for wild fires, and the climate is changing, so why live there? It's like building a house on the bank of a river that is known to flood high in the spring.

The other part of me understands that people don't just pack up and leave because of a chance that their home will be destroyed. Families, memories and entire lives are rooted in these places, and people are willing to take that chance.

I'll be praying for the rain.

Great idea VB!!! Also prayers should be sent to people that are sensitive to smoke. It is so smokey here in Sacramento that it looks cloudy and like it is going to rain. And Im not anywhere near the fires!

I wasn't really complaining about the nature factor in this...lightning happens....just rain and strength for the fire fighters.

Your prayers are appreciated.

We've had some pretty gnarly smoke here in Sonoma County as well.

Thank you for reminding me to say a few prayers, VB. For some reason, it hadn't even occurred to me. (Insensitive, much?)

Prayers going out your way from me...:)

It seems that the whole rest of the world is getting the rain you need for some reason. I have friends in the Midwest USA, Jamaica, Italy, and India to name a few places and they seem to have more wet weather than usual.

Go figure!:weirdsmil Maybe it can be sent to you??

I should've phrased it a little better. I wasn't saying that you in particular were complaining. I was just saying that it sometimes bothers me when people do in general. I'm not without compassion, though. Lives, and memories, and finances are at stake and I wouldn't wish destruction upon anyone, even if they did unintentionally place themselves in harms way.
