Alright so a few years ago my husband made me watch Dawn of the Dead. Since that movie whenever I've been stressed or thinking about somthing that's troubling me or sometimes for no reason...
I get full on scary corpse zombie dreams.
I don't care if they're funny or what, zombies scare the hell out of me and so here I am 600am I have to go to school in two hours and wanting to sleep sooo bad....
But I won't because of the dreams.
When it happens its for the whole night and...I want to know why the hell I have them.

:fpraise: oh at last someone with the same problem as me.
Honestly they scare the living poop outta me and I have a regular dream about being chased down by them and everyone i turn to for help eventually turns into one and also tries to get me.
It's horrible and they are horrible.
:hugz: :hugz:I really sympathise with you and i know alot of people laugh, but to us they are seriously freaky and creepy.
I don't know why i have my dreams either, but they r horrid! ~shudders~

I've had the zombie dreams so often it's got to the point where I start giving a running commentary in my dreams to try and predict what will happen next. One time Kylie Minogue was involved, but I can't remember exactly why...
For me it's just another stress dream. I'm very impressionable in terms of what I see - if I ever saw a dinosaur movie as a kid, I'd have nightmares. Anything scary on TV would have me up in the middle of the night. Same with vampires, zombies and so forth...
Whenever I'm stressed I'll have these sorts of apocalyptic dreams, and generally I think it's because these are the sorts of things that you can't control. They're portrayed as a fairly unstoppable force in films, so I think my brain takes up that theme and runs with it in my dreams, and I guess I've just learnt to deal with it by forcing myself to try and control what goes on as I'm having the dream.
Your mileage may vary, of course...

You mean there's others like me? (hugs both of you) They're terrifying and I've tried to change the theme in my dream to funny or mystical but nothing works, in the end they're still bloody scary. Gleep.
I think it's the whole thought of an uncontrolable force...that makes sense to me. I am under a lot of stress recently come to think of it. :cutie:

I have had alot of dreams about Zombies myself. But I think it it my near obsession with them. I have 100+ zombie based fiction novels, and 50+ zombie DVDs. I buy any zombie video game no matter how lame (Typing of the Dead anyone?) so the dreams I have might have something to do with that. :hehehehe:
I have though had one same dream a few times, getting chased in circles around my house (outisde) by 3-10 of them while trying to pick up spent .22 LR cases.

My dreams are usually pretty vivid, but that one was a really long one

I had them when I was younger quite frequently.
In my case, I believe it was a suppressed fear of other people. Because of my mental wiring, people are often mysterious to me, and that was very true back then, as I hadn't the life experience to teach me how people "go."
So the idea that one could be in a crowded place and suddenly notice that many of the people surrounding you are walking corpses, including infants, makes sense, in retrospect.
I guess, I'd ask what about your particular dreams is the scary part. Maybe it's something you need to address if they keep troubling you.

Ha! That's so funny! I usually have three or four zombie dreams a month! I only remember one being really bad and that's only because I was trying to protect my daughter through the whole thing. I think the fear was all about keeping her safe.
I just figured I had them because I like horror movies.

So now I find it interesting how so many people have zombie dreams. It's so odd. Do we have a collective subconcious message that intreprets into zombies?

Rofl, my boyfriend and I love zombie movies. For some reason they never get old for us. Dawn of the Dead was a good one
I had one zombie dream. It scared the living crap out of me. I was in this old warehouse and I just kept seeing them, kinda blackish green and decayed looking, with very bright eyeballs. They were just kinda standing there looking at me, everywhere I went. It was very creepy

I've had recurring zombie dreams too--I think it's something to do with feeling like I'm always surrounded by people who are not good for me and like I have to pretend to be somehow "dead" like them. Feelings of being chased/hunted/devowered, loosing my life, panic...scary!

You know, I think the reason why zombie movies, and as a result zombie dreams, are so popular is that its a more realistic fear than your standard horror movie. Most horror movies are about stuff that most likely wouldnt happen to the average person. But most zombie movies are based on a scientific experiment that went wrong, and with all the crazy experiments we do these days, I think its definitely a more realistic fear. And its scary... everyone you love is a zombie, civilization destroyed, etc.

I think a lot of your are right. We base the zombie for one thing, to represent somthing that's harmful or dead but still living. I feel that way everyday as a foreigner in Japan, it's hard to hold on or find any support here and it feels very much like I'm being surrounded and attacked from every which way.
Creepy.
