Hi all!
I've been given the Goddess Tarot as a present, and I'd like to try some readings with it. If there are any guines-pigs out there who would like to step forward, I'll read for you.
This is a new deck to me, so please don't expect too much!
Brightest blessings,
Nina:D

I love the Goddess Tarot! It's such a beautiful deck. If you need more guinea pigs, I would love a reading. Just a general one would be great. :)

Hi Silver,
I’m just going to do a simple past, present and future spread, and see how we go.
The first card I drew was the Queen of Pentacles. This card always reminds me of you, you successful business woman, you! You have a strong connection to the realities in life, and in your past you have concentrated on these strongly. This has allowed you to bring material and spiritual wealth into your life, and you have the capacity to share this with others. On this card the Queen is sat on her throne on a hill capped with lush grass, and this indicates you have a strong connection to the earth. Kriss Waldherr describes the Queen of Pentacles as the “archetypal Earth Mother”, and you have always nurtured your close friends and relatives with care not found in many people.
The second card I drew was Ukemochi – Transformation. This corresponds to the traditional card of Death, and indicates Changes, endings and new beginnings. Of course, knowing you as I do, there is an obvious transformation in your life from single woman to mother, and next year, wife! This will transform your life completely (Duh!!!) and you leave your past behind, never to return to it. But you are starting a whole new chapter in your life now! In the picture, Ukemochi is shown reclining, with her hand across her belly – I think you may have something important in yours!!!!!
The final card I drew was Tara – Beginnings, corresponding to the Fool. How obvious, again – you have a new life ahead of you, and you will approach it with eagerness and anticipation. You are stepping out into the unknown – and you are excited about it, although, as with all new paths, you may feel some nervousness! Tara is honoured as the protectress against the fears that block men and women from living in harmony – so I think that bodes rather well for your upcoming wedding, too!
Oh Silver, everything looks bright and rosy – and you are shining away in the centre of it. Feel like I'm cheating a bit because I know you, but it's a nice reading, anyway!
Love and hugs to you,
Nina

Hi Wildchild!
Glad you like the deck too! I think the illustrations are lovely, and I was so pleased to get it as a present!
Just as I did for Silver, I’m going to do a simple past, present and future spread, and see how it goes. Let me know what you think!
The first card I drew was Athena – Justice. Athena is looking across past the coliseum, with an owl on her shoulder. She appears to be moving forward with purpose, and clarity of thought. In the past, you have been blessed with wisdom and fairness, to the point of being detached. I feel that people have come to you for advice, but you have also had some difficult words to say to some – you can see to the truth of the matter. You may have caused pain to yourself as you do not naturally wish to disillusion people, but you have not been able to let them continue to fool themselves that they were doing the right thing. Sometimes I feel you have felt alienated because you are so strong, that you may not know who to turn to when you need advice. You will always defend those you know need your protection.
The second card I drew was Diana – the Moon. This card emphasises your feminine side, and you are using your intuition more and more. Perhaps you are beginning to recognise now the ebb and flow of events in your life. You are still very strong, but you should now recognise that your powers of wisdom and nurturing also wax and wane, just like the moon. Listen to your own emotional cycles right now, and take some of that nurturing energy you give to others and lavish it on yourself when you feel you need it. Don’t despair when you feel that you have no more to give yourself or others, just like the moon, what is empty will become full with time.
The last card I drew for you was the Five of Staves. In this card there are five women, all whom look alike, in conflict with each other. However, this looks more like a dance, and less like a fight! I feel that these five women are all different aspects of a single entity, and you may feel pulled in several directions at once. You may find that you have many responsibilities at the moment, and you feel that you can’t do any one of those responsibilities justice. You can, and you will, but you can only do your best. Don’t give yourself a hard time because you can’t give each task your 100% attention. Don’t lose sight of the most important thing in your life – keeping yourself happy and healthy!
I hope that means something to you, Wildchild – I loved reading with these cards, they are so beautiful!
Love and light,
Nina

Shaman, I have drawn three cards for you – another past, present and future spread.
The first card drawn was the Queen of Cups. Your recent past has been full of strong emotions, affecting you deeply. Your mind has been a fertile field, and you have been sensitive to all the emotions around you. Some of those emotions haven’t even been yours, but you are sensitive to those around you. You have had a great ability to express love, and to nurture others, and you have been an inspiration to many of them. Yet I feel that you haven’t had this feedback from many of them, and your nurturing has left you feeling empty at times. In the card, the Queen has raised her hand to her ear – perhaps to shield herself from the demands of others?
The second card I drew was the Seven of Swords. You may feel like you are carrying a burden right now. Perhaps the decision you need to make is weighing on your mind? You may also feel vulnerable right now, and your behaviour can be a little defensive. But you are right to protect yourself – don’t take too much on right now until you implement your decision. In the card, the woman is carrying five of the swords and looking warily to her right, as though watching someone out of view. She appears nervous that maybe more will be placed upon her. You need to be cautious now, and examine your motives carefully. You have already made your decision, but still think about it carefully. You may find that initially it will cause you a little stress and difficulties…
….BUT!!!
The last card I drew for you was Lakshmi – Fortune. The outcome is favourable, Shaman! The wheel is turning in your favour, and lady luck is at your side. The generosity of the Universe is about to shine on you, and your world will expand and you can have positive expectations for the future. In this card, Lakshmi is seated with her consort, Vishnu, on the back of Garuda, the King of the Birds, and they are spreading good luck and fortune to the land below them.
Hope this means something to you, Shaman. I love reading with these cards!
Anyone else? I’m having so much fun with these cards, they feel wonderful to me. My poor Robin Wood Tarot is going to get ignored for a while, I think!!!

Nina,
Thank you so much for that reading. Like Silver, I've been meaning to ask for one but just never felt like the right moment until I saw your offer. :) I couldn't pass up a reading with the Goddess Tarot.
I think you were right on for all the cards. You know, I've never really saw myself in the light you described for Athena. I showed that to my friend today and she said that's me. I've always pride myself on being a fair person but not all that wise. :) Thanks so much for all the insight. Sometimes I forget to pause and take that mental deep breath.

Hi Nina,
I would love a reading, if you are still willing to do one (if not, just let me know :) ).
I (actually myself and my husband) am at a crossroad. I'm wondering if we should stay put or go.
Thanks! :)
P.S. The Goddess cards are beautiful, by the way.

Hi MoonOwl,
Here’s what I got for you – another past, present and future spread.
The first card I drew was the King of Cups. Here the King seems serene, staring down into the goblet in his hands. I feel that in the past your ideals and expectations seem to have been met, and you were, for a time, very contented with your lot. Perhaps you didn’t have all the material things you needed, but your emotions were fulfilled. You were both calm and peaceful, and you were happy with your lot!
The second card I drew was the Five of Swords. Somewhere along the line, things appear to have gone wrong. Perhaps now there is a period of quiet, but it is uncomfortable. Things may appear serene on the surface, but you are waiting for conflict to begin again. Have you lost your trust in a person, or perhaps an ideal you held? Life is a struggle right now, I feel. Perhaps you are looking for a change just to alter the situation. Maybe you distrust your instincts right now, and don’t know what to do?
The final card I drew was the Princess of Staves. An answer is going to come to you soon! I feel this card is telling you a little about how you should approach the situation. The Princess brings passion with integrity, and inspiration – you may get a flash of insight shortly where the decision just ‘comes’ to you! This card shows a young woman holding a staff, but this staff is sprouting leaves – I think you are going to start a new venture, and it will bear fruit.
I hope this makes sense to you – as all the cards are minor I think that fate is taking a backseat in all this and either choice you make will lead you on a path that’s right for you. Maybe one way will take you longer to get there, but you will get there.
I’m still enjoying this, so if anyone else wants a reading, just yell!!!
If you want a private reading – pm me, and I’m happy to do that too. Or a particular spread. Your choice, people!!

I think the Five of Swords has nailed my current situation perfectly and I do indeed hope to get that 'flash of insight' :)
Again, thanks! :smooch:
And if you would ever like a reading, I'd be more than happy to return the favor ~ although I'm quite new at it, I'd love the practice!

Nina, I just pm'd you your reading. I didn't want to sidetrack the topic of the thread with a non-Goddess tarot reading.
Let me know what you think. :)
