View Full Version : Spread of the Week - 7/7/08 to 7/14/08

July 7th, 2008, 09:18 AM
Spread of the Week rules / instructions:
1. A new spread will be posted weekly (we may change it to bi-weekly or monthly if weekly doesn't seem like enough time to get the readings done).
2. If you'd like to attempt the spread and have a reading done for you using that spread in return, post in the thread.
3. The first person to post will receive the first reading from the 2nd person to post, etc. So, whoever posts in front of you is who you read for, and whoever posts behind you is who is reading for you.
4. The readings should be posted in the thread so that others can read them (after all, this is for the purposes of learning and we all learn better by reading over examples by others) UNLESS the reader deems that the information is too personal to be shared on an open board. If that is the case, then the reader should PM the person they are reading for, but post in the thread that the results were personal and their querent has been PM'd with the results of the reading.
5. Do not post in the threads if you are not willing to read for others. This is a reading exchange, not a free reading.
6. Use only the spread posted. You may use whatever deck you like.
If anyone else can think of any additional questions or rules, please let me know and I'll edit this post. I think the rules should be posted as the first post every week.
If you have a spread you'd like to submit for the "Spread of the Week", PM me and I'll add it to the queue. Potential spreads should be 10 cards or less, for ease of posting and to not overwhelm newbies who'd like to participate.
As usual, the first person to respond will read for me, and I will read for the last person to respond.

This is one of those snapshot "Where are you right now" kind of spreads, it can be used for reading for yourself or for others. It gives you an idea of where your strengths & weaknesses are, it can be expanded (if a weakness is seen) by asking "How can I improve in this area?" and laying out another card next to that position.
The link to the spread is here:
http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=75047
Numerology Spread:
1. Leadership, expressing individuality

7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism

I will read for you this week. Is this an 11 card spread or should I pick more than one card until I reach 22 cards?Sorry, miscommunication. You are choosing cards for 1-9 and then 1 card for 11 and 1 card for 22. The cards correspond to the #s, so the total # of cards in this spread would be 11. :)

Wow, check me out being all prompt and stuff this week!
Here you go, Adora. I hope it makes sense. I usually use my Gilded Tarot deck but was drawn to my Shapeshifter deck for this spread. I don't use it as much so please let me know if anything seems off (or is really dead-on).
1. Leadership, expressing individuality: Conflict (fire element) – It seems you may have some issues dealing with leadership, be it either with you feeling angry with someone in that position or you may be letting someone else’s negativity hold you back from the leadership you seek.
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability: The Well (water element) – This card is about polarity, fertility, and divine communication, so I’m guessing you are pretty adaptable and are very good with diplomacy.
3. Creativity, communication, self-expression: Deception (fire element) – Bad choices may have cost you in the past or come back to haunt you. Since this position is also about self-expression, be careful how you deal with others. Make sure you are honest with them and yourself.
4. Foundations, hard work (not like a job), growth: Nature – I see this as a very positive card in this position. It’s all about balance and clarity and that is a fabulous foundation! This card can also indicate learning, so I think you are definitely on a good path.
5. Freedom, sense of adventure: Mastery (earth element) – You may have come through (or are still muddling through) some sort of trial – perhaps something that inhibited your sense of adventure. You are on the right track since this card is about achievement and joy.
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community: Abundance (water element) – You are definitely a family person. Your relationships are your success and the more you share your thoughts with others you care about, the more you heal yourself.
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism: Goddess of Air – You seem to be in a process of transformation. It is a time of growth in both spiritual and magickal power.
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability: Oneness – (This is from the book, since I can’t put it in any better words) A cycle has ended, and a place of reward, completion and success soon will be reached. You will triumph in a certain area of spiritual growth, reaching another step in cosmic understanding.
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy: Desire (water element) – Are you spreading yourself too thin? This card is about craving, indulgence, and sensitivity, but for some reason in this position I’m seeing it more as you are giving too much of yourself.
11. Intuition, illumination, idealist, working for humanity: Warrior of Air – (I’m going to repeat the book, here too since I’m having a little trouble interpreting this one) It is a time of receiving guidance from unexpected sources. Seek to bring greater spirituality into your life in preparation for the changes that are near. Blockages to moving forward in your life, relationships, employment, or spiritual growth are now dissolved.
22. The Master Builder, large endeavors, leading humanity: Change (earth element) – Opportunity, expansion, movement – these are key words for this card. In a position like this, you are definitely being reminded that the only thing certain in life is change. Change brings opportunity, but you must act on it.

This is for inlucesco...
1. Leadership, expressing individuality
The Sun (reversed)
You need to let your light shine - and what a light it is! Don't be too concerned with who will see you and what they will think. The indication here is that you prefer to stay in the shadow and lead by example...that you might lack the self-confidence to lead overtly...that you would rather folks choose to follow you rather than follow you because they have to. You express yourself plainly and simply with a style that radiates your enthusiastic, energetic, radiant personality...you don't have to scream "look at me - this is who I am", your light shines all by itself...NATURALLY!
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability
10 of Wands (reversed)
This indicates that these are tough issues for you. This also indicates that you may be a procrastinator...that you'd rather put off doing what you need to do until it's absolutely unavoidable. To me, this is also the card of the proverbial "burning the candle at both ends"...eventually it does catch up to you, usually when you have run out of energy leaving you with a lack of willpower to accomplish what you need to do. As far as cooperation, diplomacy & ability go, I see this card as the "can't say no" card. When cooperation is called for, you find yourself doing the lions share of the work...and this isn't a "diplomatic" card either - it indicates that you are more apt to take personal responsibility for a problem/solution, rather than find a diplomatic solution that all parties can accept...and as far as adaptability goes, nope - I see this card as representing "a place for everything and everything in it's place" (your arms)! On the bright side, this is a 10, a card of completion - and lessons learned.
3. Creativity, communication, self-expression
6 of Wands (reversed) Seems you've been working very hard on becoming a better communicator! Reversed, in this instance, I see this card as the card of someone who is shy and somewhat reserve struggling to overcome their fear of public speaking and/or becoming a better communicator in general. The card is one of harmony and balance after a struggle. You're not where you want to be, yet, and maybe you are having a difficult time finding a style that is all your own, but folks are listening and noticing your efforts, even though you may not notice it or they might not acknowledge it openly.
4. Foundations, hard work (not like a job), growth
The High Priestess (reversed)
You are a mystery that wants to be understood. To me, this indicates that you may hold others to a somewhat strict value system that you hold for yourself. You are hard to get to know because you don't show much of yourself to others. Instead, choosing to show them what you think they want to see or expect from you rather than showing them who you really are. This doesn't mean that you put on airs...it means you are very selective in your dealings with people. Everything you show to others is a piece of you, but never the complete picture...you are a person who takes years (literally) to really "know". I think you have a well developed intuitive sense, but might second guess it more often than not. Perhaps now is the time to listen to your intuition and let instinct guide you to wherever it may lead you. You appear to have a great perception of what other people want, but how well do you really understand what you want?
5. Freedom, sense of adventure
Ace of Swords
This is interesting! Your "freedom" lies in knowledge, truth, honesty, clear thinking and facing challenges head on with courage and resolve. And every opportunity that comes your way can be an adventure - if you think of it as such.
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community
Page of Wands
I'm not sure how to read this card as representing nurturing, caring for family & community. He is a child himself...new and inexperienced with all of these things. I'm open for suggestions!
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism
9 of Pentacles
This is the card of self-reliance, independence and having things the way you want them. You are practical, down to earth and rely more on common sense and personal experience rather than mysticism. You like the finer things in life, hold yourself to a high standard and your home/environment reflect this.
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability
3 of Cups
Enjoyment, happiness and friendship. It appears that you have a good support system both financially and emotionally already in place! You are achieving what you want, your choices have been good and you've been sharing these good times with others.
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy
6 of Cups
This is the card of nostalgia, memories, sentimentality and of innocence. 6's are about balance and harmony that occur when an exchange happens...perhaps something from your past has led you to where you are today or a past experience has shaped your current personal viewpoint on humanitarian issues, obligations or philanthropy.
11. Intuition, illumination, idealist, working for humanity
Devil
The indication here, IMO, is that you could be limiting yourself to what you believe you should be instead of allowing yourself the freedom to be who you are. It's about fear and insecurities and the lengths we will go to get what we need that often wind up limiting our potential to become the kind of person we truly want to be. The impression I get is that you care very deeply about what others think of you and try very hard to meet/exceed what you believe their expectations of you to be. The Devil asks us to take a good hard look in the mirror and figure out what is troubling us on the inside that has become visible on the outside.
22. The Master Builder, large endeavors, leading humanity
5 of Cups (reversed)
Reversed, this is about recovery, acceptance and an ability to recognize that even though you have lost something, you still have something in reserve. It's realizing that change happens for a reason even if it temporarily leaves us in an uncomfortable situation, there is a lesson to be learned that will benefit us in the long run. I'm reading this as you are great at seeing and understanding the "big picture" and helping others see it too.

Hi Wolfpup! Hope this makes sense to you! I used the Gummy Bear Tarot (which is so cute, LOL) and I don't read reversed.
1. Leadership, expressing individuality
The Star: okay, to me this says that you're in a stage of renewal. Maybe you're not even where you want to be as far as letting people know who you are, but you have an excellent attitude about it all and are able to inspire others just by your force of personality. People are probably drawn to you, I'm thinking.
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability
4 of Cups: Are you in a job you don't necessarily want to be in? I kind of feel like you're going through the motions in your every day life - not in a bad way, but in a way that lacks excitement.
3. Creativity, communication, self-expression
3/Wands: Whereas I think you might be in a job you don't necessarily like, it sounds like you're really good with having a creative outlet! Since it's a 3, maybe you've just started on a new path, but this in connection with the Star indicates to me that you're going to be very successful with it.
4. Foundations, hard work (not like a job), growth
Sounds like you have a strong, traditional foundation - maybe in the marriage and family sense of the word, but with a spiritual aspect as well. Were you raised in a religious household? If that's the case, I think maybe you go back to it more than you even think. Which is not a bad card. I very much feel like this is a solid card and that you're well grounded in life right now.
5. Freedom, sense of adventure
10/Coins: Work/family/home keeping you from doing what you want to do? I think you're materially able to go out and have some adventures, but you have other ties that are holding you back. Not a bad thing, and maybe you even prefer to stay close to home.
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community
2/Coins: You have your hands full. I think you might be burning the candle at both ends, but the guy (okay, gummy bear) on this card looks pretty happy about it. To me this says you're smart and capable of fulfilling all your obligations to other people, but make sure that they're taking care of YOU, too.
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism
Strength: This card tells me that you're diligently working towards your goals, but not in the no-holds-barred way that the Chariot might say. It's kind of a coping sort of Strength, rather. If you're going to school, for example, I'd say that the 2/Coins in the previous position indicates that you have such a full life that it's hard to take care of others AND do what you need to do, but you're doing it very well.
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability
6/Cups: Another going-back-to-your-roots card. Is your family helping you out in a financial way these days? Since it's the nostalgia and childhood card I feel like maybe one of your parents has given you a nice gift or you have a sibling that's helping you in another financial sort of way. Alternatively, I see this as possibly indicating that you're pursuing a childhood career dream.
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy
Judgment: this says to me that you've been doing all sorts of stuff for others and it's finally about to come back (in a good way) for you. I keep feeling like maybe you're taking care of a parent or someone older (just basing it on the Hierophant, 2/Coins, 6/Cups, and this card) and if not right now, soon someone is going to really show you how they appreciate your hard work.
11. Intuition, illumination, idealist, working for humanity
7/Wands: sounds like you're not quite sure how accurate and useful your intuition is, or how helpful you actually are to others, but you need to trust it and go with it. It probably seems like things are working against you in this area, but you should gather up all your determination and soldier on. This is a really dynamic card to have in this position, I think - I feel like if you just channel the energy of the Star and the 3/Wands into this area you're going to be really successful at what you decide to do.
22. The Master Builder, large endeavors, leading humanity
Page/Wands: you have a LOT of potential to do awesome things, and judging from the Star, 3/Wands, and 7/Wands in addition to this card, you're just getting started. I think you're coming into your own right now and gaining the confidence you need to not only inspire yourself, but others.
Okay, well, I hope that was at least partially accurate. :) Have a good week!

This is for inlucesco...
1. Leadership, expressing individuality
The Sun (reversed)
that you would rather folks choose to follow you rather than follow you because they have to.
LOL, I put that EXACT same concept into an application to be in a leadership development program at my school - and I got in! Did you read my mind?!
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability
10 of Wands (reversed)
This also indicates that you may be a procrastinator...that you'd rather put off doing what you need to do until it's absolutely unavoidable. To me, this is also the card of the proverbial "burning the candle at both ends"...eventually it does catch up to you, usually when you have run out of energy leaving you with a lack of willpower to accomplish what you need to do. As far as cooperation, diplomacy & ability go, I see this card as the "can't say no" card.
Yup again - I'm easily overwhelmed these days, particularly with the evil financial aid people at my school, trying to take care of my house, balance a job, and have a social life... and no, I can't say no when it comes to work or school, either.
And again, this is hilariously accurate - I'm taking a Courtroom as Theatre class this fall at law school, which is designed to not only cure your "stage fright" as a litigator but also teach you what gestures and tactics are the most visually effective. So LOL!
4. Foundations, hard work (not like a job), growth
The High Priestess (reversed)
Everything you show to others is a piece of you, but never the complete picture...you are a person who takes years (literally) to really "know". I think you have a well developed intuitive sense, but might second guess it more often than not.
Yes and yes. Definitely.
5. Freedom, sense of adventure
Ace of Swords
This is interesting! Your "freedom" lies in knowledge, truth, honesty, clear thinking and facing challenges head on with courage and resolve. And every opportunity that comes your way can be an adventure - if you think of it as such.
Yup! I look at law school as the biggest adventure I've ever been on (I moved to a new city all by myself, for the first time... making new friends... becoming WAY more confident in myself... it's scary but empowering!).
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community
Page of Wands
I'm not sure how to read this card as representing nurturing, caring for family & community. He is a child himself...new and inexperienced with all of these things. I'm open for suggestions!
No, that is definitely true - I'm not in a position to care for my family right now except on an emotional level, and I'm definitely letting my parents help take care of me (like with groceries - LOL).
Yeah, my focus is definitely on having my ducks in a row, on the material level right now - school, internship, financial aid, and keeping my home in order. I pursue mysticism to some extent, but I have to consciously fit it in with the mundane stuff.
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability
3 of Cups
Enjoyment, happiness and friendship. It appears that you have a good support system both financially and emotionally already in place! You are achieving what you want, your choices have been good and you've been sharing these good times with others.
Absolutely - I take great comfort in knowing I have a great support system should I ever run into trouble, which has become really obvious in the last year.
I think that's definitely true, but I can't think of an exact example to give you. I am definitely pursuing my legal career dreams, though, and when I'm done with school I plan to be a prosecutor... which is sometimes considered a public interest career, depending on the school. So maybe that's what you're picking up on.
The Devil asks us to take a good hard look in the mirror and figure out what is troubling us on the inside that has become visible on the outside.
Yeah, I definitely do care about what others think and try to exceed their expectations. My own expectations are even more stringent, though!
So definitely true! I look at every blow as a "okay, so what's the purpose here? Why did this happen, or why is this person in my life?" (Oftentimes I think my friends want to smack me when I apply it to their lives, too!)
Thank you again, curious1! That was an awesome reading.

People are probably drawn to you, I'm thinking.!
Ha! This cracks me up. DH and I are having some issues and one of them is about me 'becoming me' if that makes any sense. LOL
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability
4 of Cups: Are you in a job you don't necessarily want to be in? I kind of feel like you're going through the motions in your every day life - not in a bad way, but in a way that lacks excitement. !
Uh, that's just creepy. Yes, I love my employer, but my specific job? It has gotten BORING
3. Creativity, communication, self-expression
3/Wands: Whereas I think you might be in a job you don't necessarily like, it sounds like you're really good with having a creative outlet! Since it's a 3, maybe you've just started on a new path, but this in connection with the Star indicates to me that you're going to be very successful with it.!
That is just the sign I needed for my recent thoughts about staring a new way to earn money. I love to sew and I've finally narrowed my focus down a bit. Thanks for the confirmation!
I very much feel like this is a solid card and that you're well grounded in life right now.!
Everything you say here is very true, except I was not really raised in a religious household. Church was something you did when the grandparents started fussing or the parents starting feeling guilty about NOT raising me in a religious household. lol
5. Freedom, sense of adventure
10/Coins: Work/family/home keeping you from doing what you want to do? I think you're materially able to go out and have some adventures, but you have other ties that are holding you back. Not a bad thing, and maybe you even prefer to stay close to home.!
Ok, just get out of my head! LOL
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community
2/Coins: You have your hands full. I think you might be burning the candle at both ends, but the guy (okay, gummy bear) on this card looks pretty happy about it. To me this says you're smart and capable of fulfilling all your obligations to other people, but make sure that they're taking care of YOU, too.!
Another problem with DH and me. I like to stay busy - it gets on his nerves.
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism
Strength: This card tells me that you're diligently working towards your goals, but not in the no-holds-barred way that the Chariot might say. It's kind of a coping sort of Strength, rather. If you're going to school, for example, I'd say that the 2/Coins in the previous position indicates that you have such a full life that it's hard to take care of others AND do what you need to do, but you're doing it very well.!
I've never worked toward a goal in a no-holds-barred way. And you are right about it being hard to take care of everything.
Alternatively, I see this as possibly indicating that you're pursuing a childhood career dream.!
My family isn't helping me financially, but I do rely on my mother emotionally. I'm a very nostalgic person in general. Also, the sewing thing I mentioned earlier is a childhood career dream (not to mention my wonderful step-mom taught me how to sew)
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy
Judgment: this says to me that you've been doing all sorts of stuff for others and it's finally about to come back (in a good way) for you. I keep feeling like maybe you're taking care of a parent or someone older (just basing it on the Hierophant, 2/Coins, 6/Cups, and this card) and if not right now, soon someone is going to really show you how they appreciate your hard work.!
This makes me laugh hysterically. (Lisa, can you imagine who I could feel like I'm taking care of???) Yes, I've been taking care of someone lately and it better come back in a good way or I'm going to be making some serious changes in my life. LOL
This is a really dynamic card to have in this position, I think - I feel like if you just channel the energy of the Star and the 3/Wands into this area you're going to be really successful at what you decide to do.!
I really needed to hear that this morning. Thank you!
Again, needed to hear that this morning.
Thank you for such an awesome reading! You were dead-on with almost all of it. It confirmed some things that I needed confirmed and that's always a good thing.

1. Leadership, expressing individuality - 2 of Cups
This indicates to me that you lead by being a partner. This may actually seem contradictory, but being out in front is not really your style. You'd rather be the one pulling the strings than the one out on the stage dancing. You may not get all the glory, but you enjoy the quiet satisfaction of knowing that what you wanted was accomplished, and that you helped build someone up.
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability - 7 of Swords
I think you might have a little problem with cooperating with some of your peers & you may not always be the most diplomatic person. Sometimes you will tell the truth, even if others don't want to hear it, and some will see that as contentious. You do adapt well though, and use what is available to you, even if that comes at the expense of others, after all... we're talking about the larger picture here & the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. (Sorry, totally channeled Spock for a minute)
3. Creativity, communication, self-expression - Hermit
Now, I KNOW you're a creative person, but I think that you have to go deep within yourself and have a quiet place to be able to express it. You may get your inspiration from the outside world, but it has to sit in your brain & percolate & combine with your ideas & your psyche before it is fit to come out on paper & be born. I think you'd also rather have others come to you and ask for your opinion than offer it freely (see the above card as to why you might be hesitant to share without being asked ;) ).
4. Foundations, hard work (not like a job), growth - 6 of Swords
I think you've worked really hard to get where you are. You've been through some stuff. (maybe an understatement) but you are constantly thinking that things have got to be looking up. The answer is just around the corner, you're always looking for the silver lining and also maybe always looking for an escape hatch. :D
5. Freedom, sense of adventure - 4 of Swords
Oooh, boy. I think you'd rather stay home & watch the travel channel. I think that the big, bad world might scare you a little bit. Maybe you feel that you don't need to go far to "get away". You probably shy away from big risks and play it safe. I see you as wanting more of a restful, relaxing vaction... with a spa.. and a pool boy, than a full blown "adventure".
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community - Page of Pents
I think you very much see this role through the eyes of a child. You take all of this very much to heart. You want to make people comfortable. You want to show them that things can be beautiful, functional, can be used for many different purposes. I see you volunteering to do things for others that use your enthusiasm for creating and making things. Maybe like donating a painting for an auction, or volunteering in a soup kitchen, probably helping with the cooking, something that gets you more involved with the the physical work than it does with the organizing... if you see what I mean.
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism - 9 of Swords
Ah, this is interesting. To me this would suggest that you worry that you don't know enough, can't learn it all fast enough and may never learn it all! Aaaaahhhhhh! Scary. I think knowing and understanding is very important to you, and it truly disturbs you to not know even the smallest thing about a subject that you're interested in. I can see you buying up books on a new hobby to learn all about it before you start practicing it (I do that!).
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability - Page of Cups
You may not be the most practical person. I think when it comes to things of this nature, you're ruled a bit more by your heart than you'd maybe like to admit. You probably have lots of things simply for their sentimental value than their actual function. :)
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy - 9 of Wands
I think you will tend to champion causes of people who have been on the victim's side. Someplace like a battered women's shelter, or an animal shelter. You probably cry at that one ASPCA commercial with Sarah MacLachlan (so do I, doesn't everyone?). Injustice, especially to the helpless offends you quite alot.
11. Intuition, illumination, idealist, working for humanity - 2 of Swords
Here is where you might have some trouble. I'm sure you have lots of ideas, but it is sometimes difficult to get started with them. You can't decide which ones are more worthy of your attention... prioritizing them can be a problem. You value balance quite a bit as well, and much of your intuition comes from seeing balance in all things (I think I remember you posting somewhere about not seeing the deities as inherently male & female, I just remembered that as I saw this... was that you?).
22. The Master Builder, large endeavors, leading humanity - World
Wow, that about sums it up huh? Way to take a card literally. LOL I think the only way I can interpret this is to say that you probably really believe in the "Save the Planet" movement and do your recycling, etc. and everything that we're supposed to do for Gaia. If you can think of another way to apply this card, please share, this was WAY to literal for me in this position. ;)
I hope I did you justice (even though that one didn't show up) in this reading. Let me know what you think. :hugz:

I'm printing this one off, Lisa - and will comment more later, but suffice to say that I'm impressed. :)

Here's Curious1's
:hugz:
1. Leadership, expressing individuality: 3 of Pentacles: Earth
You lead by doing, by demonstrating how to work at harmony, by focusing on doing your task and doing it well. You believe in being a good example. You don’t call attention to yourself, but by simply being.
2. Cooperation, Diplomacy, adaptability: 10 of Cups: Water
You sometimes have an idealized vision of how people should get along. You would like it to all be love and harmony. Sometimes this means that you don’t speak up for fear of causing a disturbance. It also means that you are really uncomfortable when things get rocky.
3. Creativity, communication, self-expression: 5 of Swords: Air
You feel conflicted in terms of your own creative spark. You have the inspiration, but you doubt your ability to express it. You sometimes feel like the desire to express yourself is a burden and a lonely one at that. I think, personally, that the real burden is that amount of self-doubt that comes up, and that if you trust in your ability and ask for a guide, that you’ll find a way.
4. Foundations, hard work (not like a job), growth: King of Wands: Fire
You are a hard worker who tends to take charge. Sometimes you struggle with letting go of control, but you are proud of what you’ve accomplished. A bit serious at times, and a person of integrity. I sense that there’s some room to learn to let go here.
5. Freedom, sense of adventure: 9 of Pentacles: Earth
a.A lady hunting with her hawk always seems an adventure to me, but the hawk is contained and the lady is in control. A sense of freedom and adventure that is approached cautiously. You are nervous about how things might turn out if you really let go.
6. Nurturing, caring for family and community: The Universe: Spirit
This is such a big card! You want to give your loved ones everything. To help them achieve their best and brightest. And this seems really important to you. You like helping them achieve their dreams.
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism: 6 of Pentacles: Earth
You want to know that everything is okay, that you have enough, that the security and harmony will be kept safe. You want the knowledge of how to keep them and how to gain them.
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability: 7 of Swords: Air
Logically, you know that challenges will come and that there will be burdens to carry. But you’re determined to make it. You will overcome despite your fears.
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy: The Lovers: Air
You want to champion the causes of harmony, love, and freedom from guilt. You’d like to show people what good can happen if they’d just work together. When this card came up, I got the urge to say “Why can’t we all just get along?” And now typing it, I have “Why can’t we be friends” singing in my head.
11 Intuition, illumination, idealist, working for humanity: 8 of Cups: Water
Sometimes it is just so tiresome, so discouraging. You get tired of feeling unheard. You’re tempted to just walk away. Sometimes you speak too quietly or timidly or are too shy to say anything. And it gets in the way of what you want to see happening.
22 The Master Builder, large endeavors, leading humanity: 6 of Wands: Fire
You’d like to feel empowered, to find someone to champion as a leader that you could believe in. Someone who would speak for peace and harmony. I don’t get the impression of you being the leader, but I could be wrong. Instead I see you being the person who speaks to them to prompt them towards fulfilling the potential you see. A hidden role, but a powerful and good one.

Pretty much dead on - the only caveat is that I usually end up in the leadership position despite not wanting it.
2. Cooperation, diplomacy, adaptability - 7 of Swords
I think you might have a little problem with cooperating with some of your peers & you may not always be the most diplomatic person. Nothing wrong with channeling Spock. :weirdsmil I am usually ok with tact, but sometimes its hard to say things in a gentle way.
Some of the things I've made that I'm most happy with yes. I can sit down and create without all that, and make stuff that others are happy with, but usually I feel let down when I approach it that way.
There's an escape hatch?! duuuude I need to know where. ;)
I've had some rough times in my life, and generally speaking things do improve. I've learned to look on the bright side, to be thankful for what I've got. Sometimes I forget that hard lesson, but not too often thankfully.
Actually, I love adventure. I have a list of things to see and do that's a mile long. BUT I'm also aware of my limits, both physically and financially. And I'm aware of my husband's limits - which is where the restful, relaxing vacation comes into play. He's not much of an adventurer, too much a hermit for it. Otherwise, we'd have joined Peace Corp years ago. :hehehehe:
6. Nurturing, caring for family & community - Page of Pents
I think you very much see this role through the eyes of a child. You take all of this very much to heart. You want to make people comfortable. I'd like to do a lot of those things, but its rare for me to have those kinds of opportunities. So what I do is to feed the strays here, to try to catch them for trap, neuter, and release, and try to find them homes. Its not much but its better than nothing. As a result a lot of my focus in this department is aimed at my friends.
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism - 9 of Swords
Ah, this is interesting. To me this would suggest that you worry that you don't know enough, can't learn it all fast enough and may never learn it all! Aaaaahhhhhh! Scary. Alright, who showed you pictures of my house? :weirdsmil
9. Humanitarian, obligation, philanthropy - 9 of Wands

You probably cry at that one ASPCA commercial with Sarah MacLachlan (so do I, doesn't everyone?). Injustice, especially to the helpless offends you quite alot.
Haven't seen the above commercial, but yeah, I'm a huge advocate for animals, and try to educate the college kids that I meet about the rape and abuse realities on campus when I can. I do so because I've been the victim before.
11. Intuition, illumination, idealist, working for humanity - 2 of Swords
Here is where you might have some trouble. I'm sure you have lots of ideas, but it is sometimes difficult to get started with them. I'm pretty sure that was me - though I don't apply it to all deities. Just some of them. There's no doubt in my mind that Min is a man, but there are others who defy gender stereotypes that arbitrarily get classed as one or the other. Balance is extremely important to me spiritually.
22. The Master Builder, large endeavors, leading humanity - World

I already commented on this one. I'm not so good about some of what I do around the house for the environment, but my awareness and actions are improving.

Thank you for the more detailed feedback. I'm so glad that this made so much sense for you. I felt very much "in the zone" when doing the reading, and the things that weren't so spot on, were the ones I was questionable on, so that makes sense. I'll have to work on those areas. :hugz:

Wow Zephystorm, thank you for the EXCELLENT job you did with this reading! I feel like you know me and we've never met! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back here, but it's been busy here...we're finally through with haying and I have time to BREATHE! I love the smell of GOOD hay and it looks like we will have more than enough this year regardless of how severe this winter gets! Woo HOOO!!!

1. Leadership, expressing individuality: 3 of Pentacles: Earth
You lead by doing, by demonstrating how to work at harmony, by focusing on doing your task and doing it well. You believe in being a good example. You don’t call attention to yourself, but by simply being.
You don't know how right this is! I believe two things... if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right...and, I don't expect another to do what I am not willing to do myself. And no, I don't like attention...just gets in the way of things.
Yep. I believe in the golden rule. It's not so much that I don't "speak up for fear of causing a disturbance" but that I don't see the point in speaking up unless it is absolutely necessary. And yeah, I do get uncomfortable when things get rocky...it means that something went wrong somewhere.
LOL! I don't have a creative bone in my body...perhaps you are homing in on the things that I like to do are solitary things, riding horses, fishing, hunting, quilting, gardening, etc. I rarely leave the ranch and have little outside contact with others.
Right again! We have created a GREAT life for our family. If there is anything about it that I need to "let go" of might be the idea that one of the boys might take over the business someday. Unfortunately, none of them show an inclination to do so. I wanted them to have advantages I never had...I wanted them to get an education - I didn't want them to have to make a living with their backs and wits...I wanted them to experience the world and become a part of it in ways I never could. And that's exactly what is happening...and it makes me both uncomfortable and sad knowing that when hubby and I are too old to ranch, that what we have built will ultimately be reduced to a dollar figure.
Odd that this card should come up...a falconer recently moved here - he's teaching me falconry and I'm teaching his grandkids how to ride! As far as being nervous about really letting go, I think it wise to be cautious...I'm not a person who does things "just because".
6. Nurturing, caring for family and community: The Universe: Spirit
This is such a big card! You want to give your loved ones everything. To help them achieve their best and brightest. And this seems really important to you. You like helping them achieve their dreams.
Yup...see above!
7. Knowledge, seeking perfection, mysticism: 6 of Pentacles: Earth
You want to know that everything is okay, that you have enough, that the security and harmony will be kept safe. You want the knowledge of how to keep them and how to gain them.
Yes! And not just for me, but for the boys too.
8. Practicality, ambition, financial stability: 7 of Swords: Air
Logically, you know that challenges will come and that there will be burdens to carry. But you’re determined to make it. You will overcome despite your fears.
This is good to know!
LOL! Two of my sons are twins (they are still at home)...they are best friends and worst enemies! Sometimes I feel more like a referee than a mom! There's also been a recent death which has brought out the very best and worst in those directly involved...not to mention some surprising and volatile information.
True...I think most folks just want to hear what they want to hear.

Yeah...this is an election year and I don't like either candidate! No, I'm not a leader, never have been and have no desire to be. I'm too self centered!
