I saw that several people had mentioned this plant among the herbs they have, and I wondered what its uses are. Maybe I'll even stop telling my friends to uproot its invasive self, lol.

I read somewhere that the scent of honeysuckle helps you recall memories. Or helps you remember certain things. I'll look it up again and let you know more.
To me, it gives me a peaceful, happy feeling. The smell of it here in the spring is absolutely intoxicating. That and Iris's together.
Makes me feel kinda bad for the people who are allergic to it.
Honeysuckle is invasive, but it's good to grow along a fence line. Creates a nice privacy barrier between you and some pretty nosy neighbors.

It does smell gorgeous, but it's so invasive I was shocked when I found out it isn't native here.

I think If it's not growing on a fence or nothin it can be very invaisive and just take over alot of areas in people's yards.
It's almost like it needs something to climb, otherwise they'll become like morning glories and crawl across the ground if left alone.
Cutting them back might be a good idea. But keep a few to where they can grow
into beautiful..uh..shrubs? making sure they're spaced out enough
The nutrients in the soil itself could be the reason why they grow so crazy-like where you live.
Almost all honeysuckles I've seen here in Oklahoma have mostly been growing on and along fence lines and on other bushes and big shrubs.
