My cousin just grabbed my deck of cards. I'm not sure if it's a bad thing and I wanted to know if any of you have any experience on such situation. It's the first time it happened to me in years! I figure I can just cleanse my deck and that should be fine.
Can anybody break this myth?

hrm.... I'm of the type that people can touch my things and I will be ok.
While I was "in the broom closet" -- I had ritual things hidden in the open- like my kitchen altar- people were constantly touching it-- and it never affected its use/power....
If you are uncomfortable with it-- cleanse your cards and then work with them for a while- or carry them with you....

Hmm.. it doesn't bother me at all when people touch my decks. I look at them as little pieces of cardstock with pretty pictures on them. To me, the value is in the interpretation and in the insight, not in the physical cards themselves.

I figure I can just cleanse my deck and that should be fine.Yes it should be fine unless the person has really strong energies, which may require more then one cleansing. As for whether or not a person touches your deck it is a personal choice so follow your intuition and figure out what is best for you :)

Boy talk about a change. When I was taught Tarot in the late 70's early 80's it was burn the deck if someone touched them. If not burn then just trash for it was no longer a good deck.
Truthfully, I don't remember ever allowing another to touch our runes, bones or tarot decks. Yes the ones we practiced with but never our real ones we used for castings or readings.
Of course we were also taught to keep them in ceramic containers and never allow a person to touch them or hold them. How times have changed!

If you are concerned, I think you can smudge each card with some sage.

I WANT others to touch the deck. I want them to put their energy into the reading so I have them shuffle and cut if they are on hand to do so.
IMO I think really its about personal preference and how you've programmed yourself and your cards to read. If you feel it is a bad omen then cleanse and reassess how your deck is reading.

i have decks that must not be touched by othes (so called sacred decks), and decks for touching/clients.
if a sacred deck was touched by a stranger, i would use it for clients in the future and get a new sacred deck, preferably the same sort as the previous.
also i would prolly make such a fuss about the "sacrillage" of that person, that they would never ever touch what is not theirs to touch, EVER in their lives, especially concerning me ;)
but i agree its a personal choise
