Cool link Danus! All I have to say, for those of you interested in visiting Sleepy Hollow. DO NOT STAY AT THE SAW MILL RIVER HOTEL!!!! NOR the Elmsford Motel. BAD!!! EVIL. Icky place. ICK ICK ICK. Trust me. I used to live near there. We went there to party. There's a Marriot and a Hilton hotel nearby. And a Super 8. Saw Mill BAD!!!! Elmsford Motel BAD!!!

Playland is fun, and I'm not just saying that cause of my family history there. It's a lot of fun at the park. Sunnyside and Lyndhurst are worth visiting too. And, if you're lucky (or brave) enough, when visiting the Old Dutch Church, you can visit the ACTUAL bridge Ichabod disappeared from. <insert spooky music here>

One day, I will make it up to Salem just to see what's going on.

This year I have Samhain off. I plan to make the house look spooky and make sure my son has a really good time. :D

I was so inspired by this article, that I'm planning a trip to Salem this October! Wish me luck cause it's kinda late for hotel reservations and stuff, but this could really be fun!

Thanks SO much, Danustouch.

You're welcome! I've been to both Sleepy Hollow, AND to Salem, and loved them both. If you go to salem the week BEFORE halloween, the street party/carnival thing they have is terriffic. That's when I went, and I had a terriffic time! And it looks SO beautiful there in the fall :)

Salem is incredibly awesome. The history is interesting, there are tons of wonderful little shops, and it's beautiful.

Just for an oddball suggestion, Las Vegas can be a lot of fun around Halloween. Business as usual, only people are dressed even more weirdly than they normally are. :D

(of course, I'll make any excuse to go to Vegas!)

Actually, Danu, I was planning on going during that carnival thing the week before. I'm glad that's such a good idea! I have mid-term pause that week and I figured that weekend would be perfect!

Well, since I've been trying to move to Salem since '93, let me give you guys this link: SalemWeb (http://salemweb.com)

Start there and you can find all sorts of stuff!

Make sure to bring plenty of money--the shops are incredible!!!

Good luck with the reservations though, usually Haunted Happenings is booked years in advance. However, if you are lucky to get in (even before or after), you are sure to have an amazing time. It's so beautiful up there.

If anyone needs more links, let me know!!! :)

I have been to both Sleepy Hollow and Salem in the BC (before children) years and both are wonderful places to visit whether a "holiday" or not. This year I am taking the kids to Spook Hill here in Florida to do their trick-or-treating. Afterwards while mom watches the babies my oldest and I will participate in the Florida "Witches Ring" festival.

For the record, if you have the time AND the money Ireland is THE place to go for All Hallows Eve. The festivals there can only compare to Mardi Gras in New Orleans which ain't shabby!
