:boing: :boing: :boing:

Yay!!! We're going to Disneyland mid October for 2 weeks. Well, we're not spending the WHOLE two weeks in Disneyland but will be in the general area. Other than the usual touristy stuff...Universal Studios, Knotsberry Farm, etc. Are there anything else anyone would recommend? Neat little stores? *hint*hint* Like the kind that sells the FUN stuff...like tarot cards, books, etc? :D I want to take a drive out to the desert & see the plant life there. Does anyone have any suggestions for that? Books?

I'm not sure who's more excited...me or the kid! :D

Ohhhh..i'm so envious!!! lucky girl!

The "park next door" - Disney's California Adventure, shouldn't be over looked - it has the coolest rides, and a really awesome roller coaster.

I am not really very familiar with Anaheim (but will be soon, I suppose). The area around the park itself has some good shops.

The only good metaphysical shops I know of are closer to LA, there are a couple I like in West Hollywood and such. You might try citysearch - LA for more information.

Wish I were going with you, but likely next trip you make I will actually be living there (further proof that your readings were dead on. . .).

Woo hooo! Sounds like fun!!

I was there in 1979; my hosts took me to a small old water-front shopping village. At the top of a non-descript out-door staircase was the kind of shop your looking for. It was one of the best one's I've ever been in. Unfortunately, I don't remember anything else about it! Perhaps someone familiar with the area could tell you were the shopping village is, (it was very distinct in the way it was a bunch of old, mostly wooden buildings all-jumbled together on the water-front), but who knows if the shop is still there....
Good luck!!!

Disney World is in Florida. Disneyland is in Ca. Tsk Tsk. *I'm a disney fanatic* I've been to DW over 15 times.

I don't know much about pagan stuff down south.. however if you want a tourguide for disney and universal.. I'm your girl.

I can recommend some of the best eateries in the parks as well as give you a heads up on how to get the most ride time out of your day with as little wait as possible. *you'd be surprised what kind of knowlege a youngin like me has on the topic.. I've been to disney every summer for the past 15 years of my life.

Sincerely,
Storm

I love Disneyland!!! Wildchild, if I were you, I wouldn't do too many theme parks, since it might tire you and your family out. I don't know of any fun shops in the Anaheim/ Buena Park region. :(

Here is something that I think that you would like. In the Pasadena area, there is the Hunington Library and Gardens. You would love the gardens; they are so lovely. Also, there is the Descano Gardens near there too- I haven't been to those gardens, so I couldn't tell you about it. I have some friends who have been there and have loved it.

In the LA area, there are some neat museums that you might want to check out. I really like the Getty in Brentwood. It's definitely worth checking out. Also, if you are near that area, you should check out Third Street in Santa Monica. It has some fun shops there and interesting people. Plus, it's right by the beach.

Well, I hope you have a nice trip. I'll think of more things for you to do in the area.

Ooohh!!! Santa Monica is where we're dumping our stuff and do 1-2 days here & there. I'm not usually big on theme parks & such but Disneyland is a MUST!

Earthcat, the last time I was down there was waaaaay back in 1979 too. Heh!

Storm, I would love any suggestions you have. Anything that would make this trip more enjoyable would be great.

We're not usually big on long trips but this is something that we decided we must do before our son gets too old to enjoy it. We've been talking about it for years now but always had an excuse why not to go....Cdn $ is low, this that everything. But this opportunity came up to house sit for a friend and we decided to go for it! :D

Psst! Azure!

If you can take a da and go further south go to sea world it is great or the wild animal park. There are some great metaphsical shops out there I think one is called Cat's Eye or some such I will talk to a friend and see if I can find out for ou.

That's a great idea, Yvonne. San Diego has some great attractions. Plus, it is only about 1.5 hours from LA. I think that the kids would really love Sea World and the Wild Animal Park. At Wild Animal Park, there is a tram that takes you along to see all the wild animals. You kind of feel like you are on a safari.

Another place of great beauty is Santa Barbara. It's really not that far from LA either. Oh, Wildchild, you have so many suggestions already. I think that you should look at a book and pick and choose the major things that you want to do.

So Azure, will you be moving to the LA area? I have lived here for ages. For a while, I've been thinking that this place isn't for me. However, for the last two months, I realize that I this is my home, and I love it here. I've just been thinking of all the great places that the area has to offer.
