What ones do you have and what do you think of them?
I only have a couple:
Learning the Tarot by Joan Bunning
As a relative beginner, I consider this to be the most straightforward primer for learning and am constantly referring to it.
The Complete Illustrated Guide to Tarot by Rachel Pollack
I have to admit to not really reading much of the text so far, but there are so many great pictures of various decks and other tarot-related images that it's a favorite to browse through.
Tarot for Yourself by Mary K. Greer
I haven't had a chance to start this one yet but it looks promising.
That's it really, for me! :)

I have a couple that I use as decoration in a silk scarf lined/draped cauldren. ;) I figure every thing you can learn from tarot doesn't come from a book written by someone else. ;)
Anyways....the titles and my opinions are:
Tarot Made Easy by Nancy Garen (I personally didn't like it after I tried to use it. Each card has an interpretation broken down by subject of reading. Ex: family, money, career, feelings, messages....etc.)
Tarot Companion by Tracy Porter (this one is more of a reference book and isn't too bad. It includes a symbolism dictionary.)
Tarot for Beginners by P. Scott Hollander (this one is one to have if you must have a cutch book :p )
Any other books I have are the ones that came with the deck in a kit. I have a book for the Romany Tarot, Sacred Circle Tarot, Cosmic Tribe Tarot, and Rider/Waite Tarot. No comment on these books....because I haven't even looked through them. (Why do I have them then?? ...I'm a library and have a book fettish! :p )

78 degrees of Wisdom, the Goddess Tarot Workbook, and Joan Bunning's Learn Tarot.
I love Joan's book, very simple, and I follow the course with each new deck I get.
Rachel Pollack's 78 degrees of Wisdom is more difficult, but well worth the effort. I fing I go back to that on occasions, especially if I have a card I find more 'vague' - tends to have ideas that 'jump out' at me.
The Goddess Tarot workbook is good, too, although nowhere near as in depth. Interesting for some Goddess lore, too. There are some nice spread ideas in it, as well.

I only have one.
Learning the Tarot by Joan Bunning
But I expect to have a few more as I continue exploring the Tarot.

I have The Mystical Tarot and The Complete Illustrated Guide to the Tarot (but I haven't read my way through that one yet) 8O

I have 4:
The Complete Guide to Tarot by Cassandra Eason
The Complete Guide to Tarot by Eden Gray
78 Degrees
and
Celtic Dragon Tarot
I tend to not use the books and also tend to disagree with some of the meanings in different situations. Only I could argue with a book!
If I am unsure of a card, typically court cards, I will look at Joan Bunning's website and see which of the meanings pops out at me as the one I am looking for.

The Secrets of the Tarot by Barbara Walker is just awesome
She really puts the tarot in historical context - great researcher.
She starts with stating that the suit of trumps (major arcana) was lost from our general pack of cards.... why? .....

I have both of these books, too. Neat coincidence. I find them quite informative. I'm more drawn to my own interpretations of the tarot; however, I often use books for some guidance. Actually, it was just last night though that I looked at a book for a suggestion on the Ace of Wands. The author's idea made no connection to me, so I just shut the book. :p

yeah well, i've been collecting them for quite awhile now.
i only have 19 decks, but i just saw one of them on ebay for $170! that was exciting! it's an o/p deck called 'The Magickal Tarot' that i received as a gift from my teacher, and it's one of my favorites.
of course, i would NEVER get rid of it, but it's neat to know it's worth some bucks!
