Irena Sendler, a Polish Catholic, was a great heroine during the time of Nazi controlled Poland. She smuggled 2500 Jewish children from the ghettos of Warsaw at great risk to herself until she was caught, captured, and tortured. With both arms and legs broken her life was spared when a guard was bribed for her release. Her achievements are truely inspiring.

Tragic, emotional, and inspiring.

I'll read the site more tomorrow, but, like BlackLili said, that is truly tragic, inspiring and emotional. She was an amazing, and brave, woman, and I'm sure she will truly be missed.
