Abrahamian took the bronze from around his neck during the medal ceremony, stepped from the podium and dropped it in the middle of the wrestling mat then walked off.

Political machinations are not unheard-of in the Olympics. The test of his assertion will come if he chooses to file a formal protest against the judges' decision.

Politics aside....you don't act like a "spoiled brat" and a "sore loser" and make your country and yourself look like an ass by throwing tantrums. You stand with pride for having given it your all and then you file a formal complaint. *Everyone* knows the Olympics are rife with politics and that most of the decisions are politically motivated.....just look at some of the stuff that went on regarding the scoring in the men's team gymnastics competition. If some of the medalists in that competition wanted to file complaints I wouldn't blame them at all...but at least they stood with pride for having competed, for having given it their all and for pride in their country during the award ceremony.

Just be glad it was not the 1908 Olympics in London. He would have really gone to town as the UK walked away with 69 Gold. But then it was biased towards the UK with UK judges and the USA complaining every day.
Drama queen.

Very true. Many of the athletes I've seen so far, when the NBC announcers (that freak-on-a-leash Bob Costas especially) are howling for blood, have been awesomely polite, stating only that "It's an honor to represent my country."
Too bad this guy apparently only thinks of himself.
