MM:)
I've got a question concerning the candles used for candle magick. What should you do with a candle that was used for a spell, but didn't burn out? Is it proper to use it for another spell? Or should you just throw it away?

What I do, is any candle that doesn't burn down all the way, I keep till around Mabon (now in fact) and melt them all down together to make either one new big candle or a few others.

That's a great idea, Lady Starlite :)
I usually keep burning my candles until they've burned all the way down, even if I have to extinguish them a couple of times. I wouldn't use one for another spell unless it was to renew the same one.

use little birthday candles! they're cheap, they burn down quickly, but give you just enough time for most spells!

You can also cleanse them for reuse if need be, tho it would be better to use one for the same thing it was used for before (I mean after all, you don't have to do a working just once). I don't think it really matters unless you use a candle used for healing for let's say prosperity - just the leftover energies might conflict with your new focus.

I just keep using them until they do burn out. I don't notice any change :)

Thanks for all the ideas:) . I still have a couple of candles I've used for different spells and wasn't sure what to do with them. Now I have some idea:) .

Great idea! I have a lot of candles around - I keep meaning to do something with them. But the only instructions I've heard tend to be of the 'Throw them in water' or 'Bury them in the yard'. I don't want to do this, because I'm afraid some animal might get hurt by them.

I usually just cleanse them and reuse for something else. They seem to work just as well.
Though I like to buy the really big candles for less as buying a lot of little ones can cost me more. 8O but I do like that idea of melting them down to make a new one..
I guess I'll just cleanse and reuse.. hehe..

I make my own for the most part. However for those I buy such as my altar candles I reuse them. I cleanse and prepare my candles everytime. For those I have inscribed something on however, I do make sure they burn to the end. I have also been known to *GASP* use permanent markers on white candles to achieve certain colors I cannot find or make! IT WORKS!!
