As a beginner, doing her first reading, I was interupted.
What should I do?
I had all my cards laid out and had taken notes on which cards were in which spot. I was just trying to pull it all together as for a meaning when I heard my husbands car pull in the drive.
Should I try to pull together a meaning from my notes? Or should I just scratch it, chalk it up to experience, and start over some other time?:(

I wouldn't let it interfere. Our minds get distracted easily. I would just acknowledge that he's home and let the thought go from you and steer your focus back to the reading. I don't know how many times I've been interrupted during a reading...but as long as you can redirect your focus and still get things from the cards.....continue with the reading. If the Hubby came in and was hounding you about projects and supper.....ask him for a few more minutes of quite time....or if that's not possible, make note of what happened to disrupt the reading in your journal....there may be a reason why you weren't allowed to proceed with the reading. ;)

Well, I really thought twice about starting this reading anyway for fear of being interupted. Hubby and oldest son were in Nashville for football game and cookout with in-laws. Other kids were quitely watching a movie. I nearly called to see if Hubby was on the way home before locking myself in bedroom.
I so wanted everything to be "perfect" When I heard the car I gathered the cards, put them and my notes to the side. I just wanted to see him and son (to find out how son's game went).
Hubby didn't hound me for anything. Just wanted to go to bed. I've pulled the cards out, placed them back in their positions and continued where I was after he went to sleep. I figured that would help me get a feel for the cards. (Like I said this was my VERY FIRST reading.) I was so excited to be doing it and had looked forward to it for a couple of days....waiting till the time was right. Even with the interuption I still feel it was sucessful.
After the reading (second part) was over I gathered the cards, cleared them, thanked my Inner Guide, and put the cards away.
Then came here and found your message!
Thank you!

bad puma!! Bad!
:D I have been known to start a reading, draw the cards, then get distracted (food, tv, family, national disaster, you know), and come back minutes or even hours later to pick up where I started off. Then again, I do that with most things. . . :) Do what feels right.
