Say I use a one quart jar for my tinctures, fill it to the top with fresh plant parts, pour my vodka over it, stir it every so often, and let it ferment for 6 weeks before decanting.

How is it different for dry plant parts? I know they are more potent, so should I use 1/2 or 1/3 that, and then only cover them (ie: only half the jar will be full with Vodka?) or do I fill the entire jar again, so it's not super concentrated.

For dry herbs you can fill the jar about 1/3rd full and then top it off with alcohol. Dry herbs need to go the full 6 weeks for the extraction (not fermentation). Fresh herbs you can decant after 2 weeks if you are in a hurry.

I use dry herbs because they are more potent. But I like my tinctures super concentrated as well.

I make tinctures with dry herbs that I can't find growing locally, like Echinacea & Motherwort.

I prefer to make and and sell tinctures that I have made from fresh plants. Fresh herb tinctures are more vibrant and you can better capture the essence or spirit of the plan from making them fresh. Some people ticnture right in the field. You can easily make double or triple infused tinctures with fresh plants also.
