Just make sure you get the tumbled kind since it is poisoness.

I once read that chrysocolla and chrysoprase are good for this particular situation too. :) Furthermore, rose quartz or lavender quartz would be pretty good to use as well. I'm not too sure about garnet...

amethyst would be nice to pair with the rose quartz and garnet. Perhaps some citrine or peridot also. light, translucent stones i think would be better for this.
heavier, opaque stones would be a bit too much, i believe.
Tigers eye might be nice too, but i would think beads, in a bracelet or something. Not too much. small amounts... i wouldn't personally pair it with the above stones, though..
oh, and moonstone.. its a very feminine stone, and it may be very comforting and healing to have with you after childbirth. Be sure to think about the effects the stones might have on the baby, too though.
Something gentle or a stone with a smooth, light vibration might be better than something very strong and high feeling.
Good luck to you :)

my input is to use chrysocolla, lapis lazuli,. Also ruby should help prevent miscarages and will speed up labor(unless that will be a problem and then do not use it.). smoky quartz should be used after childbirth as one of it's uses is to help with surgicial recovery. and if you can use hematite. if you have problems with it or had problems with it in the past, then use tiger iron aka mugglestone aka Harry Potter stone.

I think by law, your allowed to have religious items in the operating room. Im not sure though.
Also, about the cheap stones, here is a recent thread about that, I hope it helps. Congratulations on the baby btw .

for inexpensive stones, you could order from this site:
http://storeforknowledge.com/Individual-Rocks-Minerals-C255.aspx
They have some of the stones mentioned, there.
it is a science site, but i have ordered from the before and my stones came quickly, and they were in wonderful condition. They felt lovely and alive, and all of them come in a well padded box (full of crumpled, thick newsprint) and come in seperate little bags with an info sheet inside. i was anxious about the look of the citrine that they have on the site, but the one i received was amazingly clear, and bright, light yellow. The stones they send are very good sized too. i believe mine came in a matter of days. i'm sure that it depends on where you live, but they should also have expedited shipping.
good luck in finding something.
