For some time now...........I hardly know what to tell you to start.........
you CAN TRY THIS........ go find an oak tree....... and talk to it...... BE the TREE for a while ......listen to the wind in the trees and hear what is being said......spend an entire day with a tree... or more than one ......
Research everything there is to know about the sacred Oaks...........while you are studying what ever information there is provided with the Sticks .. or Staves..........
oh and read Celtic Tree Mysteries by BLAMIRES........
Do a visualisation of how intimately the ancient people were aquainted with and had knowledge of trees ........including which ones to build with; which ones to burn for long lasting fires for warmth in the winter.....which ones to build boats with ... which ones had medicinal properties ........etc
Do a ritual tree planting ...... investigate and help preserve a local forest....... find out how much ONE tree of any kind converts to oxygen and how much land it preserves and how much water it holds.......
Get a book on identification of trees and take it to the forest and learn who is who in the tree world........
I Love the Ogham ........ very early alphabet ...... has been compared to Etruscan and other very early markings in Spanish caves ......
There is even an online Ogham Oracle :>
APTLY called the VOICE OF THE WOODS........
if you are getting the idea :>

I use them but not as much for divination as symbols for magical workings.

Never heard of them before, they sound really interesting! Good luck with them and let us know if you want to practise doing any readings with them ;)

I used them for a while, but then took runes again, because I wasn't able to read them well enough and therefor wans't able to get any satisfying answer out of them. You have to be very much into celtic tradition and/or tree lore to work with them I guess. Started a thread about ogham in Druids forum and got some useful links.

the ogham is the celtic tree alphabet, it's kind of like the celtic version of the runes, like the runes you can use the ogham as a magickal alphabet, use it for magick as well as divination. also when used for divination the letters and lines are on sticks or twigs as oppsed to stones or tiles like with the runes.

I found them easier to learn and use as an alphabet. I used to use it like a secret code! :D

I read about them in DJ Conway's Celtic Magic and they sound interesting. Does anyone have any links on thier meanings? I haven't had a chance to make a set out of paperboard like I did my Runes, Ibut I want to try them.
Blessings,

This site gives the meaning of the oghams and the second link shows the actual runes.

I am working on creating a set of Ogham fews. Does anyone know if there are different correspondeces for each sigil other than the commonly known tree and plant correspondeces? I really want to know what if any stones or minerals correspond to the sigils.

Thanks in advance

I've seen a list of bird correspondences... I'll look around in my library & see what I can find...

Hopefully you'll find some use in that. Making your own ogham tiles is as easy as finding a nice piece of oak dowel, or a good solid piece of oak, and slicing it into rounds, and painting or burning the tiles with the individual letters. You could also use clay, or use a fine-bit dremel tool tip to put them into a set of gemstones you found appropriate.

Here's a search on the Ogham with quite a few threads. You may find some information in one of these:
