I love the look of this stuff and have been looking for a good specimen for some time. Natural specimens seem hard to come by but I did manage to find a nice piece which is polished on one side and natural on the other. (see pic below) This mineral is also catching on very fast in jewelry so prices seem to be increasing.
Metaphysically Seraphinite is called by many an angel stone. Its energies tend to link with angels. I would extend this to include nature dieties as well.../ specifically European nature dieties. Along the same lines it assists one in astral travel and helps build phychic awareness. It is a stone of magickal transformations on all levels and is well suited for finding a higher purpose. Associatd with the heart chakra it also helps nervous problems and purification of the blood to help eliminate toxins. In Eastern Europe it is well known for its cleansing properties.
Seraphinite, also known by the name Clinochlore, is a common member of the Chlorite Group of minerals. Clinochlore derives its name from the Greek "klino" meaning "oblique" or "inclined" and "chloros" meaning "green" It is colored deep forest green to green-black with inclusions of silvery Mica. Seraphinite, is derived from the Latin word "seraphin" referring to the first order of angels. The allusion to angels is due to the feathery wing patterns made by the silvery Mica contained within the stone. The Mica inclusions exhibit a chatoyancy, giving Seraphinite a wavery sheen, much like Charoite.
