I love the look of the crystalized form of this material and as such have been collecting it for some time. I just also realised that we have never discussed it here so here we go...
Vesuvianite, also known as idocrase is a green, brown, yellow, or blue silicate mineral. Vesuvianite occurs as tetragonal crystals in skarn deposits and limestones that have been subjected to contact metamorphism. It was first discovered within included blocks or adjacent to lavas on Mount Vesuvius, hence it's name.
Metaphysically it brings us closer to our higher selves and facilitates the seeing and the understanding of things on this earth that have no substance. It also helps instill a sense of security in our lives and helps to stimulate creativity. It helps remove negativity from thought as well as anger and depression. It is a mineral of loyalty and cooperation making it a great gift for newlyweds, buisiness associates, friends as well as family. It unlocks and stabilizes the mental faculties making it a fantastic tool while travelling along ones spiritual path.
