View Full Version : Bad juju in the office

We seem to be having a really rotten run of luck at my work place recently. There are eight of us who work here, and six of the eight (including myself) have close friends or family members who are critically ill (one co-workers’ brother and mother are currently hospitalized). And it reeks to me of some kind of weird negativity. Originally I had thought of modifying a house blessing to the workplace, but I’m having second thoughts. The energy is different in the office then the home, and although we are a tight knit group that is family like, we all go home to our own private places at the end of the day.
I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem, or any suggestions?

I think you're on the right track by modifying a home blessing --- when you modify it- you can take out the home-y ness - if that makes sense... I have seen some work place blessings in some books... i'll look at those here in a bit and see what I can come up with...
Good luck and I'll look around :)

Yes
But considering the outcome of my response when I got some idea of what and who was behind it has been a twelve year witch war I really don't think it is my place to offer any suggestions
Unless that is what you want to get in to

Rather than a Home Blessing, perhaps you should just consider a cleansing instead. Use salt and sage (or whatever you prefer) to remove all the energy from the area and just start fresh.

At my last place of employment (HIGHLY Christian) people would have me come cleanse their cubicles with salt when the energy got rough. I saw the humor in it.
Might work for you. esp. if you can do the whole place of business.

Eggs in a dish of cold water under a desk, soaks up negative energy.
Or maybe you could try to find the ''cause'' and get rid of it?

I'd like to, I've decided to do a reading and see what I can find,

I've decided to take a multi-layered approach, cleanse then bless, we will see how it goes!

I had that in my work place before.... the cleansing thing I tried..it worked for awhile but not everyone lets just say "participated" so it didnt last very long
I tried the salt thing and the pencil pentacle protection in my office and it made my office into the sancutary which I didnt mind except on particular bad days and it was a little hard to get work done with everyone coming in for release...
White flowers worked well.. after the white ones every day I brought a few fresh flowers from my garden to put them out also music.... I changed the music in the office to a soothing type rather then what they were listening too
this was the best reaction I had
some times you just have to ride out the storms

I am hesitant to mess too much with the energy of a place when so many are involved, I am more likely to do something to protect myself, and place and commend the others to their gods.
That has been the method most successful for me. If the others are not on board and do not share your beliefs, you could stir up more than you will calm down.
A place does not have power over the people, they bring their energy to it, and I don't suggest you manipulate others energy without permission. A ritual at your own cubicle or something to generally soak up some tension is OK, but I wouldn't go further than that.
Sometimes we need shit to happen in our lives. It's not comfortable, but that doesn't mean it ain't supposed to happen.

There's another option that doesn't change the people's energy but affects how it moves through the place and thus affect other people and interacts. While I'm guessing you can't do too much in the way of rearranging furniture or changing lighting, I'm sure you can probably try this in your own space at least: feng shui.
Any book you pick up off the shelf in a bookstore should give you some of the basics of breaking up and changing the flow of energy to prevent pooling of energy and the acceleration of fast energy.
Also, in addition to sage & salt and all of that, don't forget that sound can often break up energy that gets imprinted onto environments and spaces.
High pitch sounds will break up intense and excited energy - sharp energy if you will - a bell or chimes should do the trick. Low pitch sounds will break up stagnant, stale and dark energy - like a drum or even clapping.
Do you guys get enough sun light?
Finally, while there's a lot to be said for letting things that need to be worked out get worked out (and I do mean a lot - 9/10 this is the best approach), there's also something to be for not sitting idly by if there's something that is both negative and unproductive happening. With people getting ill ... that sounds like the unproductive kind of negative energy rather than something that's going to move you forward.
