You. yes you. exactly you. why do you bother coming to the crystals forum.

What do you expect, what drives you, why did you come here at all ?

I am currently in a not-so-friendly mood. Bugger off if you cant stand criticism. Bugger off like you always do anyway.

I see it happenning ovre years and I am tired of it. Some, very few actually, work their a$$es off to provide genuine and well researched information. who "invent" topics, who answer questions to the ebst of their knowledge, who help to fund and deepen the wisdom.

Others just drive by and take.

How can a thread have 300 views and only 25 replies ?

why not leaving a "thank you" after you have learned something.

how dare you taking without giving ?

no karma, no pm, no reply, no nothing.

so why the fcuk do you come here at all ?

scavengers? vampires ?

or rather any real reason. let it hear. i am all ears

I feel your frustration.

For me, in general with threads, sometimes when I read them, I don't feel like I have anything additional to offer. So I don't say anything. Especially if it's in an area I know little about.

However, if there is a lot of information and pictures posted. I will often try to comment on them.

But sometimes, to me, leaving a comment that says "interesting" or "pretty" is worse then saying nothing.

To answer your original question, I come to the crystals forum, when I see a thread topic that catches my eye, or if I have questions about certain stones.

All I can say is that I appreciate all the knowledge you share with us. :hugz:

I agree with both of these. Sometimes, especially when it comes to topics I'm not very well versed on (like crystals), I feel stupid replying! Maybe it's silly, but I wouldn't know what to contribute.

I do, however, appreciate all of the forums & topics, especially when they are on things I know nothing about! I'm always reading.. just don't have much knowledgeable to say. :(

I'll also answer why I come here: the crystal forum is a great resource when I want to know about a particular stone I've come across, or when I'm trying to find a stone that is good for a certain thing. I also really enjoy the threads that feature some of the more exotic crystals that I never knew existed!

It's human nature.. people take all they can and seldom give unless confronted. Studies on this have been done and he percentage if I remember right is that 80%+ of people who belong to websites such as this add little or nothing and less than 20% actively contribute to boards.

You would think that things might be a bit different within the pagan community seeing one of the main concepts within paganism is to learn and share your knowledge asking nothing in return but I honestly think thinking that is living in a fantasy world.

People, pagans, christians, muslims, Germans, Americans, Canadians... you name it, for the most part, are takers and are looking for the shortest, easiest way of doing things with little or no work personal work involved and looking for instant gratification... if i takes a week it takes too long.

A sad reality of the world today and a sad statement on human nature and humanity a whole but a fact none-the-less.

Its the same in the work force..most people go in and do an average job at best doing as little as possible and then they are the first ones waiting for their cheques. Workers always looking at doing their best for themselves and for their companies are in the vast minority. Heck.. the last place I worked before what I am doing now used to hold courses for all associated on having what they referred to as a +1 work attitude trying to instill in the associates that going the extra step for customers pays off not only for the company you work for but also for you personal work reputation. Even after the course the vast magority still continued doing just what needed to be done and it was like pulling teeth to get them to do something extra.. when they did they pissed and moaned about it to everyone else for days about how the boss made em do this crap.

Everyone has heard about global warming and I think most people today would agree it is a reality... what's everyone's answer? Look to the government(s) for change... leave it to others to come up with convenient answers and IF it's not too much trouble well maybe, just maybe they might do it. Again.. the reality of our species as a whole.. if others will do it for you or if others will tell you how why take the time to do it yourself or learn it your self. Ask them to walk instead of taking the car.. ask them to take public transit instaed of a car just once a week.. ask tem to change to enegy efficient products and most of the time you will get excuses.

Not everyone is like this but I feel most are and statistics prove it. I think the pagan community as a whole is better than other groups but its not much better.
