I wasn't really sure where to post this, so I thought I'd put it here. I have just always been curious about something and I was wondering if anyone could fill me in. I have for as long as I can remember had so much trouble sleeping on nights when there is a full moon. Most nights of a full moon, I don't get to sleep at all. I have tried many things, even just thinking positive, but it never seems to work. It has actually become a long running joke with my loved ones. They will say "Oh, full moon tonight Gillybean, looks like no sleep for you!" I just can't figure out why this is though. Any thoughts?

I think some are just very sensitive to the energies of the moon phases... I myself am. I often get surges of energy when there is a full moon, but this can either be negative or positive. I sometimes get bad headaches too from it. They have proven scientifically, apparently, that the magnetic field around the moon's surface can affect us.

This might help explain your experiences more... it seems a useful and interesting article.

I am very sensitve to the Moons energies and often have a restless nights sleeps when She is Full.

Like the above poster said, some people are more sensitve to Her energies than others, and it doesn't help matters when you've got the Moon shining through the gap in your bedroom curtains straight onto your pillow. I mean, all that energy! How is anyone expected to get to sleep 8O

well I don't sleep well either then.. and my theory is that the increased light messes with ones circadian rhythms of sleep and wakefulness..

I just go with it and stay up late reading and writing

I don't sleep well during full or new moon. It's frustrating when I really need the sleep, but most months I figure I need the time anyway, either to process or just to have down time to myself.

Wow! Thank you so much for all of the very interesting information! I am so glad that I'm not the only one who lays awake when the moon is full. And Graelwyn, thank you for the link to that article. It was definitely an awesome read.

I dont get sleeping problems during a full moon, but it certainly affect me. When the moon is orange (probably due to pollution in the atmosphere) I get totally sexual. Its actually a bit embarrasing. Ill notice any big strong man, no matter if he is attractive or not. And that is wierd, as I like girls.
Its like my body start searching for an alpha male, whenever there is a full moon, and particularly if it is orange :D

If the full moon is clear and white, then I feel also sexual, but more in a spiritual way. Ill have problems focusing on things, other than my own feelings.

I'm very sensitive to the full moon as well and often suffer from either exhaustion or a total hyper-awake state during that time. I often get headaches around that time as well, but overall I've gotten used to them so much that I'm not even bothered by them anymore. I don't know if there's anything you can do about it other than sit it out, though...

i tend to be kept awake by the full moon, because it comes right thru my bedroom window as it rises. this view of the moon is great for full moon rituals, but not so much for sleeping! hehe. and now i can't find my sleep mask...

Yep I get it too, I think it's a mixture of the energies and the increased light, I find it hard to sleep I get very frustrated and breathless. I need my sleep though which probably explains why I get frustrated. I try and have a nap in the afternoon of a fullmoon to help get me enough sleep to get the 5am child tanty in the other room hehe
