Hi,
Im now 5 days over-due :( and fearing the worst as I went to the hosiptal today and they told me that the last day I could wait to be induced would be Monday the 30th so I only have 5 days to bring it on myself.. but how?
Ive been having tightenings and contractions for weeks now.. but then nothing happens after they get down to 10mins apart!
Anyway emough of my moaning ~
I have just found a really interesting page on accupresure/shiatsu points for labour and thought id share :)
http://qi-journal.com/TCM.asp?-Token.FindPage=1&-Token.SearchID=Labour

This is also another great article on shiatsu
http://www.midwiferytoday.com/articles/shiatsu.asp

Ive started working the points.. and guess what.. contractions and tightenings are getting stronger so fingers and toes crossed it will happen tonight!

I want to add that you should ALWAYS be careful when doing anything to enduce labor! That baby will come out when he/she's good and ready or the doctor will take em out! :) Just be careful. I know you're very anxious and impatient now but you shouldn't go doing everything at once. You could hurt yourself and the baby!

Good luck

Girl, you know you have all my well wishes for an easy labor whenever it happens! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Have you tried the old nipple stimulation? Sometimes gentle massage or even using a breast pump gets things going. Also, sex is a winner in so many ways... ;) orgasm leads to contractions and ejaculate thins the cervix.

Just be careful and know that it will happen and it will be great!

Good Luck Sweetie...and let us know asap...even if you are headed to the hosp...drop a quick line of..it's time..going in. That way we can send energy and thoughts yourway! (as if you don't have anything else to think about when you are leaving for the hospital!!)

silver venus, i know exactly how you feel. my daughter was eight days over due. they were constantly telling me that i would be induced if i didn't go into labor with the next week. there were several things that i did to help my self go into labor, that were recomended by my midwife. btw don't try any thing without asking your doctor or midwife. you can use evening primrose rose oil, either swallowing it or in the birth canal, it helps to soffen and eface the cervix. also the herbs black and blue cohosh are known to help induce labor. there also the option of using castor oil but i didn't use this one since it acts as a laxetive. walking can help although it didn't doing anything for me since i walked alot through out my whole pregnancy. also the energy that put the baby in there can also get out, if you get what i'm saying. blessed be and good luck. your baby will be here before you know it.

((hugs)) and thanks to you all!
I am being careful (please dont worry) I tried the accupressure points last night, but after having contractions for a few hours, again they stopped once I went to sleep! Argg its so fustrating!
Ive tried walking loads, swimming too, but Ive been active throughout too so I dont think its much of a change for little one, also a hot spicey meal, inidan curry ~ but they just give me indigestion!.. and we tried sex yesterday too, it was fun but nothing happened..

I know he will come out when he's could and ready its just that Ive been having contractions for 26 days now (although my due date was the 20th I went into hospital on a false alarm, and they confirmed I was in 'early labour' as my cervix had softened on the 1st of September! but again the contractions didnt progress!) and Im getting worried that it will never happen naturally and they will have to induce me, and then break my waters.. and I really want a natural birth and to be able to use/have a water pool/birth..
Im sorry to moan, its just fustrating!
I know he will be a gem when he does arrive and cant wait to see his little smiley face :smooch:

I'll try and let you all know as soon as I do get going and head into hosiptal!

Thanks again, love to you all!

What about massaging your belly with some lavender essential oil? That's usually recomended for labour and is safe to use. Plus, it will feel so nice! :)

I'm hoping that by the time you read this, you won't need anymore suggestions. I thought I'd check in & see if there's any news of the babe yet.

Silver that stinks! You must be so frustrated. Aside from walking and sex (castor oil just sounds way to yucky to even attempt) I have no other suggestions.

I hope today is the day for you, I am sending lots of easy labor vibes for you~~~~~~~~~~~

Im sorry I havent posted over the weekend, we've been trying to fit loads in, I guess to take our mind of everything and I was out of the house most of the time, had loads of fun, but no baby.

Yes :( that means I havent had my angel yet.

I did have quite alot of big major contractions over the weekend and kept thinking 'this is it!' but no, nothing progressed and now as its Monday I have to ring the hosiptal after 3pm if still nothing has happened, then go in, and surrender to being induced...
Im quite sad that it hasnt happened naturally and that I wont be able to use the water bath now. But at least baby is safe this way and I will be seeing his angel face sometime tonight or tomorrow morning! (hopefully tonight)
So wish me luck! and next time I write it will be with piccies and I will be a mummy!
Paul is so excited he was bouncing about this morning, he's just gone into work for a few hours and will be back at 1pm then we'll go to hospital around 3.30pm :D

Have a great day to all, I know I will have a life changing, incredible, wonderful day! :boing:

Love lots

We will be with you in spirits! Maybe you can call Paul home earlier...wouldn't he love that?! Either way...this kid knows the plan and he will let you in on it soon enough. Be strong and enjoy the awesome experience of it all. We love you and can't wait to hear all about the newest MW baby!!

Ick Im so sorry!
I completley forgot about replying in this thread last week when I got back from Hospital.
I had Kieran, my darling baby boy on the 3rd at 7.05pm, he wieghed 7 pounds 8 and came in the end by c-section as he was having a few problems getting out and my cervix wasnt dilating.. we made it in the end!
Thank you all for your love and support! You really did help me through those last days and it was so sweet of you all :)

Ive posted some photos in Just talk
http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?threadid=20378&goto=newpost

He's sleeping at the moment and looks like a angel :sunny:
