Question about Pentagrams

Hello everyone, i have a quick, and hopefully easy question, What does the pentagram symbolize and mean?

some believe it symbolizes protection... another meaning is that the 5 points are the 4 directions, including spirit and the circle stands for the cycle of life or something like that...

.. my mind is a little hazy right now, so if someone sees fit to correct me, by all means set me straight! *grin*

Hey, nice to meet you

To me it means a few different things: a symbol of protection, representative of the element of Earth, and something that represents the ALL five elements (each point stands for one of the 5 elements: earth air fire water and spirit). But it doesnt mean the same to everyone, ofcourse.

Oh the pentigram. The meaning to it is up to you and your beliefs. Mine for example: the pentigram stands for all of life and its energies. Each one is connected to the other and in return to all. They hold each other together and apart. The elements wind and fire are held apart by earth, the mountain that rises between them, for if they were to reach each other continually they would leave a path a sheer destruction. Same goes for water and earth. The earth would erode away and the water would have no resting place. And so and so forth......

The star points up to the goddess/god and their divine love that they hold out to all of us to have and keep.

This is merely one belief, there are many. But, as I said before, the true meaning is up to you and your beliefs.
