*grins* Okay...I know it's not even October yet, but I'm excited this year!

To start off, let me say that I see Halloween and Samhain as two separate holidays. (one secular, one religious) So I'm always glad when the 31st is on a weekday.

This year, we're having a party at our new house on the 25th...going to the local Witches' Ball on the 26th. Then I'll probably do solitary (or with the roommies) obervances on the 31st.

Here's the hard part...what on earth am I dressing up as??? :D
I'm thinking wood spirit.

What are everyone else's plans/costumes?

To the theatre party, I'm going as Disney's Sleeping Beauty - the black bodice and purple skirt, not the pink gown.

For the parties in LA clubs, I don't know - am working on it. it might involve a leopard print corset. . .

Well, funny you should ask..because my son, the ham pulled a real funny one last night...Ladystarlight you will love this one.

Trey wanted to be the Green goblin this year and I finally found a costume and ordered it for him. He told me I could be spiderman. I really hadn't planned on dressing up this year, as I will be 8 months pregnant, so I tried to tell him gently. I said, "Trey, I don't think they make a spiderman costume big enough for my fat baby belly." He looked at me all serious and said very slowly, seperating each word, "fat bottom girl!"

I thought Mol was gonna pass out from laughter. Then trey said, "I didn't say that mean Mom." Such a sweetie. He said I could just be a witch then. How very original!

Meh... "nothing" seems to be the normal for me. Seriously though, I haven't really thought about dressing up this year. :dis:

People in my art class teased me about going as death. :dis:

If I can manage to get my sewing machine operating I'll start thinking more creatively. Right now I've just got odds and ends to work with:)

I'm thinking of dressing as a Kitsune-gami (a Japanese fox-demon) but finding a good, affordable kimono doesn't seem to be working well.

I sort of came up with the costume idea and bought the material and then came up with who it was. The thing I'm making looks very much like some of Vivianne's costumes in The Mists of Avalon movie. So I'm telling everyone I'm being the Lady of the Lake just to simplify :) I bought some nice plain baby blue blend for the dress and crushed royal blue velvet for the robes :D I'm wearing it for class and I came up with a strange braid 'do of my own design that my friend Sarah is going to do for me. Weee!

I don't know if I'll dress up. But Sugoi-Con is near Halloween and I'm going as Hide (hee-day), a jpop singer.

As for Halloween.. I think I'm working, but I might dress up anyway.. depending on if anyone else at work is. I'll probably be a witch or a princess or something unoriginal.

Trey did that last year...I think it was last year. He had the mask with the tongue sticking out. It was kind of cute.

I don't know what I'll go as this year. I was thinking about beig a demon cat, or one of my friends in the dorms is into anime, so I might go dressed up as one of those skantily clad characters.

Hmmm. Given what I look like, maybe I should go as Sailor Moon. . .

I am going to take off clothes and go as the invisible man.

Later, after Freyja posts bail, I may dress up as the undead.

I have to work that night, but I work in the ER so some of us co-workers were thinking about getting togather and dressing up like we had gunshot wounds or major lacerations. It would be kinda cool to look a a patient who is hardly sick, BUt really complaining and say, "I dont know why your whining I have a gun shot wound to the head and I still have to work!":D
