Okay, here is my really dumb question, are you ready? How is the astral plane and such different from daydreaming or having an active imagination? I think I'm totally overlooking some aspect of it that is keeping me from getting a grasp on this topic. Any help in wrapping my brain around this concept?

If you consult say.....Richard Dawkins, the answer would be no difference. If you ask me, I would say what difference does it make? If the result is the same, does the "science" matter? If you can reach an epiphany in a daydream and the same epiphany in what you perceive as the astral....Who freaking cares then? It's all semantics.

^ Agreed!
IMHO, it's all about your visualization, anyway. So let your imagination go, whether you're focusing on the "astral plane" or you're daydreaming. You're going to get where you need to be either way. It may be hard to get your head around it at first, but try to relax. You're not getting anywhere (via daydream or astral travel ;) ) worrying about it.

There is no difference in my opinion. Daydream and over-imagine away!

The difference between astral travel and daydreams or imagination is that what you see when you astral travel can be confirmed to be real. If I visited your home via astral travel and later told you that you have a paisley couch in your living room and a bowl full of fruit on the coffee table - you could confirm that. But if I only imagined what kind of furniture you would have and then checked with you - you'd probably laugh your butt off at my crazy imagination.
I haven't done a lot of astral travel, but I have had a couple of things confirmed.

In my (albeit extremely limited) experience, the two don't really feel anything alike.
Astral projection is far more intense. It's more like an actual dream than a daydream. And the things you see while astrally projecting aren't necessarily just a product of your own consciousness.

Thank You!! This makes perfect sense to me. Very clear answer to the Q I asked.
And I appreciate all of you guys answering, I didn't mean to imply in any way that I didn't. Lunacie's answer just clicked with me. Thanks all!
