Here's a site with a list of dream symbols and their meanings. Will try to locate a few more.

Thanks :) Ive been having some pretty wacky dreams recently and its been fun to look up what these site say.
But, do you follow these or your own interpretation to what the symbols mean? I kind of mix and match, I generally get a feel to the dream and what its message is for me, and then use symbols to delve deeper, or not.. and try and find hidden clues out.

I use a combination of both. For instance, water might mean emotions but if it's a swamp then that tells me it's yucky mucky emotions  Whether I'm reading runes or dreams, I first look at what the symbol means but then read the question or dream intuitively. The person asking the question or having the dream is the one who really knows the true interpretation.

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine had a real bad dream last night and I am trying to help her figure it out. It involved her 2 kids and her stepson. My friend said there was alot of mirrors present and there was a duplicate of each child. The duplicate of each child was standing on their beds and talking. My friend said, "She had to look throw a messy room to find her kids and only found the boys. She never found her daughter.

Hmmmm.....mirrors represent the soul, usually the dreamer's. I'm not sure what seeing duplicates of the children means unless she has some concern for their souls or their behavior. I associate the messy room with a maze, and in dreams this means journey into the unconscious parts of the self. Possibly she is worried about her skills as a mother? I'm also getting that she may feel that she is very disconnected from her daughter. You mentioned a stepson - is she remarried and are there blended family issues regarding the kids?

I need to call my oldest son - I dreamed last night that he'd been beaten up. In reality, he was, over the weekend in an attempt to try to help out a friend - who didn't help him out when the guys ended up beating him up. In the dream, he was worse off than originally thought, so I'm worried about him. This is simply one of those reality dreams, I'm sure.

I've never relied on dream translations and symbols myself.

My reasoning for this is that dreams are messages created by 'my' subconcious, and only I have the key to unlock those messages. I do word association, like, if I saw a large mirror in my dream, that would definately be an important image to recall.

Mirror - reflective, smooth, glass

And then do the same for all major points (and sometimes even minor) within the dream. Usually I come up with a fairly decent message. Though sometimes I have to look back a week or so later and I go "Oh!"

My friend, Rahnic is 21 and has 2 kids. Her husband, Brandon (28yo), has a son from a previous relationship. Rahnic and Brandon's 2 kids are Mina(8 months) and Travis(almost 2yo). The stepson is Evan(almost 4yo). Evan use to live with his mother until she gave him up for a man and drugs. Brandon and Rahnic used to live with my husband and I until recently when we seperated ways and they moved in with Brandon's mom. Brandon's mom has full custody of Evan because the courts find her to be more stable than Brandon. I also agree. Travis has been in CPS custody and was allowed to live with Brandon's mom for the 1st year of his life. The CPS case was closed when they moved in with me back in Feb. 2003.

Rahnic told me today that now, Mina looks different and she keeps holding Mina close.

Thanks for the dream help.

I had a dream recently where I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and the bristles of my toothbrush began to fall out into my mouth. YUCK! What a mess! I could feel the loose bristles in my mouth and everything . . . spitting them out - ptewy! Then my alarm went off.

Any suggestions? I went to the site you guys posted, but no luck in finding anything on the subject. Only on teeth, but no toothbrush.

Thanks for any help on the subject.

This is from The Dream Book by Betty Bethards:

"Toothbrush: Clean out your mouth; gossip, negativity. Polish up communication. See Teeth."

This is one of the best dream books I have ever seen. In addition to a dream symbol dictionary that actually makes sense to me, it also gives helpful suggestions on working with dreams, identifying different kinds of dreams, and remembering them.

Hope this helps, KYGreenWitch.

I'm making a goddess for someone who wants help with dreams and psychic abilities. In my search for appropriate colors, I found this site. I find it interesting that the site is Chrisian and Bible-oriented when we are criticized for engaging in this practice.

I absolutely agree with this! Although I do use some symbols books to get me out of a mental rut sometimes when I have a particularly weird dream that I'm trying to analyze.

Maybe your trying to clean "something" up, but the way your doing it is worn out and usless... Perhaps a new mode of cleaning is in order...

I had a dream the other night that my husband was shot and that he died. I woke up worried and found him home safely from work and at the computer. My husband works nights about 14 days of the month.

Hi! I'm new and I've been reading through your dream teachings. Interesting stuff!

I used to have recurring dreams (nightmares) about spiders. I don't really like them awake, but I'm not terrified of them, or wasn't. They are different every time, sometimes huge and hairy, stalking me, sometimes there are a million little spindly ones running over me, sometimes just a few little ones hanging over my bed, but they all freak me out. It used to be so bad I'd wake up screaming and freak out my husband.

I haven't had them often in some time, but last week I had one again. I don't know why I had it again all of a sudden, and I don't know what it means...

All of your dreams and interpretations are so interesting! Thanks!
