hmmm... just before the summer i got assaulted by two guys (local thugs), I manged to block the punches they threw at me. Because of my novoilence policy i didnt punch them, I just pushed them away... later that day i reported it to the police (after spending 5h in a non air conditioned room waiting). Today I got a letter from the assist.DA office, they had decided to close they case... lack of evidence they called it.... what to do now i feel really disapointed. Im so mad right now... dear godess, I can only hope he dosent try something like that again... hmmm.. need help maybe anger manegment ;D or advice on how to appeal or something... general advice are always welcome too....

Retribution is just going to get YOU in trouble with the police. Just try and let it go.

It doesn't say in your profile whether you are male or female, but I think my advice would work well for both.........I imagine you are feeling pretty helpless right now, but you did what was right. Now you have to deal with all these negative feelings you are left with..........I wouldn't try any kind of personal retribution, two wrongs don't make a right and all that.........see a counselor if that's what you need........do a personal protection spell.....and if you need anyone to talk to, I'm only a PM away..........Anger management is a good idea, I think that is the way for you to go, but since my temper is terrible, someone with a cooler head is better to talk to ;) You actually had good ideas in your post....act on them. Good luck and ((((((hugs)))))))

I experienced something much like this. I was molested about 4 years ago (as was another girl) by a mutual friend's older brother. We reported him to the police, but after they visited him at his house they could do nothing more because of lack of evidence and our word going against his.
That was really really hard for me, and to this day I haven't let it all go, but I've learned to deal and realize that honestly, the police do what they can, but they cannot charge or bring someone to court if they don't have the evidence. Of course, all the criminology classes I've taken in university now have really helped me deal more than I could have before. Figure that one out ;).

It's alright, I've dealt with it now :) (pretty much, besides the occasional bout of anger I have sometimes in regards to it), but I've always found it's important to try to remember, the system is unfair in tons of ways, but for the most part, investigators in charge of trying to figure out if an actual charge can be placed are just doing their job the best they can.
I'm sure there are many ones that don't do their job to the fullest extent, but I suppose I was lucky enough to have one working on my case that did try all he could.

I've always been blessed with a strong support of family and friends we were all there together. My advice to you is find someone close by that you can talk to that will understand. Maybe even take a couple self defense courses. Now that I'm away from my "web" I'm seroiusly thinking about doing this myself. Makes me feel more in control if something like that were to happen to me.

There's not much you can do in the sense of the police, because like everyone has said, they need concrete evidence to file charges....
But, there might be a way to get the evidence you need, people who attack others don't do it just once, ask around, and see what you hear, perhaps others have been attacked, but didn't go to the polic for various reasons, opr perhaps they did, but got the saem response.
Taking down everything you find in writing will help, and then take all you find to the police, as well as a paper signed by all those you have talked to. That will give the police something solid to go off of, because if say like 10 other people weere attacked, as well as you, it's not 11 people's imagination that these people are doing this. And they can go from there.
I hope this helps some,

they have already been reported once or twice before (when one of them kicked a poor girl in the back). but almost every one is scared of theese wannabe-gangsters. I got three witnesses im gonan order a print of their statements today... Im only worried that the wannabe-gangsters consider this as a victory and comes after me.... Ive been cut a few times before, idont want to find my self on the sharp end of a knife once more.
