Ok, so, I'm not a very big person. I was born with a rare birth-defect which effects my bones..so I'm in a wheelchair. I also barely weight 100lbs. I'm not real skinny though..because I'm not all too tall (lol).

None the less, I'm perfectly healthy in every other way. I never get sick.

..but my question is, because of my size..should I worry about dosages when it comes to herbs..as opposed to someone who is larger? I believe a long time ago someone told me dosages with medication are actually determined by age, not size..so it does not matter.

I always get a bit nervous though, when I read an herb can be toxic in large doses. For instance, I've made a dream tea few times..including mugwort and a few other magickal herbs. I drank it..no problems what so ever. But I have heard that mugwort can be toxic in large dosages. I just don't want to give myself liver damage or something.

But really, I'm not too worried about it..I just like to be safe and not sorry (usually) ;)

So what do you think? Should I be extra careful, or no? I'm doubting a cup of mugwort tea would do anything harmful..but you know..I get a bit worried when I read about toxic levels.

Thanks!

As far as I know (I am *not* a doctor or a trained healthcare professional...yet), the only time dosage is determined using age is when it's being administered to a small child. Otherwise with most medications an adult dosage is considered safe for a grown adult of normal size.

I think your best bet is pribably to lower the dosage some, to be safe. How does your doctor recommend taking medications? The issue about body size is the amount of blood in your bloodstream, the size of your heart and liver, etc. A larger body is usually better able to handle a larger dose of *whatever*, be it alcohol or a drug or anything.

So just use caution, but don't be afraid to poison yourself. You're well outside of child-size. However, take the lowest dose possible at first, and increase gradually if you feel you need to.

I hope this helps.

That does help..thanks. For the most part I take normal dosages in most medications I've had. Some a bit less. Really though, I rarely take medication so I don't have much to go by. I'll just take caution as you say.

Thanks a bunch :)
