I'm on a few places where the members sometimes post these cheesy inspirational Christian stories. I'd like to post something back. Something pagan.
Anyone have any links? I've Googled to no avail!

This is one I've seen. It's also available in a Christian version just with appropriate substitutions. Actually, ummm, I couldn't find the witch version so, I found the Christian one and made the appropriate...
Being a Witch is like being a pumpkin. The Goddess picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes off all the dirt you may have gotten from other pumpkins. Then She cuts the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. She removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Last, She carves you a new smiling face and puts Her light inside of you.

I wonder how the book would sell..."Eye of Newt Soup for the Pagan Spirit"!
I've come across individual stories and even an occasional "thread" over the years, but not a bunch of them collected in one place.
This may be the place and time!
How cheesey and schmaltzy are you going for? For people sharing their own real stories, or the parable type like Simply Puzzled shared?

The things I see posted elsewhere are the parable-esque things like the pumpkin thing, or edifying tales like the atheist professor vs. the Christian student, where the prof. tries to make fun of religion but the good Christian boy runs logical circles around him (this one is the most recent, dunno if any of you have seen it). Stuff like that. NOT real stories.
But then again I do like that book title!

I did a Google for "Pagan Parables" and found quite a few.

“Celebrating the Pagan Soul” edited by Laura Wildman (http://www.amazon.com/Celebrating-Pagan-Soul-Laura-Wildman/dp/0806526246/) is another one that is similar to Telesco's.

It just doesn't get much cheesier than that. :toofless:

I don't think either of those books are cheesy. The second one, "Celebrating the Pagan Soul," includes a lot of big-name Pagan authors who contributed essays.

Well, I certainly didn't mean any offense, but I do tend to find many things written by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart and some other "big-name" Pagan authors to be quite cheesy. Having "big names" does not preclude them from being ocassionally (or even usually) cheesy, in fact I think the cheesiness may very well be part (i.e., not all) of the reason why some of them have become "big names." This is not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, as I do tend to appreciate a bit of cheesiness myself (though I have my own flavor preferences)...But it is to say that I find the aforementioned recommendation appropriate for this thread. :)
