Ladies of a certain age....remember our "salad days"? Then go see the Bangor Sisters! If you are around 50, are a crone, recall the late 60's and 70's, were ever a groupie at that time... go to this movie. LMAO It is not a classic, it isn't art but there are many moments in this film that will have you grinning and remembering sowing your wild oats... ::smoke:

Well, I'm a few years away from 50, but my kids are grown, I had a hysterectomy at 35 and I do remember the late 50's and definitely the 70's, so I think I qualify.
My mother wouldn't let me go to Woodstock :(

:) Maybe......I call myself a crone by technicality! Sounds like one I'd love to see. I loved the Ya-Ya crones and the two aunts in Practical Magick.
Who's in Bangor Sisters? I haven't watched TV in months so I haven't seen the promos.

The main characters are played by Susan Sarandon and Goldie Hawn.
I'm not at the Crone stage yet...but I'm trying to go see it. After all, us groupies have to stick together. :D
Did you see the movie yet, materra? Was there any appearance by the Queen of the Groupies Ms. Pamela DeBarres?

I saw the movie....didn't "see" Pam but then I never really was a music groupie...exactly...well, mostly... but this movie really spoke to me in alot of ways. Goldie Hawn, Susan Saranon... Woo Hoo! This is not like the movies mentioned above, no magic, no elderly aunties..but some really funny moments, some spoken truths etc. It is a matinee movie tho, not full price. Okay...said my piece. Have fun.

fast approaching full Crone-dom here....
I've seen the Making Of the Bangor Sisters; I'm looking forward to seeing it!
Being a muscian's daughter, sister, & wife, I've been backstage a lot and seen the 'goings on' back there, so I'm somewhat familiar with the subject matter.....
And I think it's very cool that Goldie is not afraid to play a groupie, (band-aid?), after her daughters' being nominated for an academy award for playing one!

Haven't seen it yet, but I want to. I wasn't really a "groupie", but I had my wild times.
Who was it who said "If you can remember the 60's, you weren't really there"?

Hell, I was a groupie in my thirties after my divorce when I had a life for a lil while....my friends and I followed a local band around who were good friends of ours.
I love both Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon, so I'll get Flar to take me to see it :)
