Hailstorm sparks 'absolute chaos'



East Devon and parts of Cornwall have been hit by serious flooding after a night of storms, including severe rain and heavy hail.
Devon and Somerset fire service said the situation in the Ottery St Mary area was "absolute chaos".
Portland Coastguard said its volunteers rescued several of people, including elderly homeowners, and one farmer fears 500 of his sheep have drowned.

Even rescuers got stuck in a 6 foot drift of hailstorms. This is in the area Lostsheep is in, but he is fine though. Must have been some force in that storm even for this time of year.

Same here sheepie. Not only for the animals but also for the damage, repair and payments out due to this.

The UK is experiencing freak weather. It's like winter in Autumn (fall) and hailstorms and storm damage? This weather is normally for about summer and the cold for January. Not October.

Too weird, someone must have corrected something-- I looked and before it said 500 sheep, now it says only 30--


Police said that a pregnant woman, who had gone into labour, had to be rescued from a car. One farmer also fears that 30 of his sheep may have drowned.

Oh, that's good news. One of the people said, i think, that the flock was 500 strong, but it looks like the majority of them must have escaped.

With the prices at the moment 30 from 500 is just a small loss in revenue.
