To Spell or not to Spell

In my day....I did many spells....thought that was where IT was at...that I would learn from the experience...


Then I passed through a time I thought SPELLS were not useful..neeeded or applied to me......

But as life goes I have come a full circle on this thought once more...

What are your thoughts.....do you Spell or not?

I like to think of them as special rituals and, therefore, only do them on special occasions. I've honestly never thought of them as "spells." They've always been "rituals" to me.

I've done only a handful of spells. However I do rituals and prayers (which in themselves are rituals) regularly.

I don't do them that often. I mainly send the energy out for my friends and such. I guess you can consider that spell work. I haven't done a "formal" spell in a long time.

Cool thought here....yes prayers...meditation....ritual....any of these (In my mind) could be rolled into the same thought...yes simplifying it but hey I have a simple one track mind....

Hmmm....you know, my favorite "spells" are the ones that I do during mundane tasks.......I send out energy while singing in the car, etc., and I make a ritual out of cleaning and organizing, things like that. The most formal rituals I do are in the bath, because I spend time choosing the essential oils I put in the tub, which incense and candles and music I'll use, etc. I can really focus on cleansing, renewing and communing with the goddess and good things usually follow, even if it's just a new attitude.

I really do my most effective magick in the car and in the tub! :lol:

I don't really do 'spells'. . . very rarely, anyway. I do a lot of energy work, or meditation, or 'looking' or 'travelling'. . . just not many formal spells. *smiles* it's not that they don't work - I just am more of a free-form mage ;)

HAHAHA Me too! My best thinking is driving to work..I communte 50 miles one way.....so I can live in a canyon near a lake and have a tree...Trees are hard to come by in Western Kansas!

Then I get home...do my chores and think what I want to soak in ... I use lots of lavendar and sage.....

I do my fair share of spells.. only sometimes its difficult cause I can't calm my mind down long enough to concentrate so lately I've cut back quite a bit.

I think I'm like most of you - not much on the formal spells.
Meditaions, thoughts, energy work, prayers - lots of that.

I like what Freyja said about her favorite "spells" being the ones done during mudane tasks - I love those too.

I like to make "Blessing Bags and Boxes" for my family. That is my favorite type of spell work.
