A family's pet cat has been found cut to pieces at a Queensland primary school, sparking a search for the killers who may have used a chainsaw to commit the gruesome crime.
Horrified students found the remains of four-year-old Basil last week at Northview State Primary School in Mackay.
Basil's devastated owner, 22-year-old Kylie Matthews, said he was "the perfect pet".
"He really was a part of the family," the Courier Mail quoted her as saying.

Ms Matthews, who bought her pet as a kitten, is determined to see the killers brought to justice.
"What type of sick person unleashes that brutality on a helpless animal? I just want the police to find the people who did this," she said.


Honestly. HONESTLY! Stupid monstrosities going and doing these sick and heinous things, and then they go and leave their handiwork in a school for the children to find! :atantrum: I keep hearing about this sort of thing! What the hell do they think they're doing? Going that extra mile to make it that little bit more 'evil', do they? :rant: How pathetic! :flamer:

I have no sympathy for those who harm other living beings. They deserve everything and more than they get. I have my opinions on how I think those who did this to the cat should be dealt with, but will not voice them. Instead I shall say that I believe an animal killer should be treated no lighter than someone who has killed a fellow human.
Animals are living, breathing beings, and have feelings as much as any human does.

In these situations I like the 'Do unto others what you would have them do unto you' quote.

Looks like the beginnings of a future serial killer right there... Jeffrey Dahmer and all those other sickos started out by torturing and killing animals, and then they moved on from there to killing and torturing human beings.

Killing whoever did this would not just be a good thing to do for punishment sake, but also to protect society. Protecting society from scum like this is why I no longer disagree in principle with the death penalty. I now believe the death penalty is the right thing to do, even though I used to be against it.
