A first grader at the school that I work for was diagnosed with leukemia yesterday. If you can, please take a moment to say a prayer for him and his family.
His parents took him to the doctor on Monday afternoon because he wasn't feeling well and received a call that evening telling them to take him to the hospital as soon as possible. He received a blood transfusion yesterday and will be starting chemo this week. In a matter of hours, this family has been forever changed.
Take a moment today to tell someone what they mean to you or just sit down and spend time with a loved one. You never know what the next day may bring.
Thank you for your prayers!

Update:
The little boy I told you about earlier was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The good news is that it is the most common type of childhood leukemia and has an excellent recovery rate. The bad news is that he will be in the hospital for another two or three weeks and will be undergoing chemotherepy daily for at least a few weeks. After that, he will still undergo chemo for about six months but less frequently and on an outpatient basis. Still, he is only a six year old boy and doesn't quite understand what is going on. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.
