Pentacle, Ankh, Hammer, Cross, show and tell. Do you always wear it out, or sometimes tucked in? This is the Dragon that I wear always.

Now, I always wear a key around my neck. *shrugs*

I always have to be wearing silver.
I wear a beautiful pentacle that Radocs got for me around my neck. I wear it outside of my shirt. I think She should see that I'm proud. It's not for show, just for Her.

a little 3/4" silver pentacle that I found at a crafts bazaar a few years ago. It's plain and not elaborate in any way. I need to get a new chain for it, though 'cos the one it's on is kind of cheap.

I wear 1 of 5 necklaces at all times:
1) herb-ish pentacle with a fox charm on one side and a skillet on the other
2) small pentacle with an onyx teardrop beneath it
3) a sacred spiral celtic pentacle
4) pink rose quartz star with triskele pendant
5) vial of "fairy dust" aka glitter in a cute faery vial. ;)
I'll try to find pictures.

Many, depending on what I feel I need at the time. When I was really in the closet, I wore an apple because of its significance in the Old Religion. I also wore a cauldron for a while and no one noticed it. I have several goddesses, and several rune pendants which I wear for appropriate rituals and events. For instance, I wear my Sekhmet pendant or Thurisaz rune when testifying in court. People do notice the runes, I explain them and they say "Oh." I have several pentacles that are not obvious pentacles, they look more like stars so no one notices them. I wear the more blatant ones to ritual. I am currently wearing a rather large runic pentacle. The pentacle's points are rounded and no one outside of my pagan circle here has even noticed that's what it is. Here's a pic and the link to the site I bought it from:

I wear a silver pentacle. It's usually under my sweater, but I don't consider it as hiding anything. It's just for me, for comfort and connection with the Goddes. In the Summer I wore my pentacle outside my shirt, even now when I wear something with a big neckline. My family knows the true meaning of it, even though they're not aware that I'm Pagan, they accept the fact that I wear such an amulet.
Only in my work I wouldn't wear pentacle outside. Just imagine how parents would react if they found out that the teacher of their children wears strange satanist symbols:eek: .

I wear the pendant version of this earring set. The only time I don't wear it is in the shower, other than that, it's on me always. I sometimes wear it out, and sometimes I don't. It mostly depends on how well it goes with what I'm wearing that day. I didn't get this set of earrings because they're rather big and I thought they'd be overkill anyway when all I really wanted was the pendant.

I have a plain triskele on a 30 inch silver chain. I usually wear it tucked in because of my job. Not because of what it means to me, but there is a chance my patient can get ahold of it and break the chain. It's happened once already. Luckily it it just separated the jumpring and I was able to fix it.

As much as it may surprise people, I wear a small crucifix (the kind with Jesus on it; not the plain cross) under my clothes most of the time. If I'm wearing something where it'll show, I leave it off. It's a very, very private connection symbol; one I would be uncomfortable explaining. Especially because it would bring out the wacko fundy Christian in way too many people! :ugh:

I wear a small silver pentacle with a moonstone in the center and a serpent surrounding it that a couple of my friends gave me about 6 or so years ago. Usually it's showing, and for the most part I don't have too many problems... when people ask, I just say it's a good luck symbol (which it is, in a way...)

I find it very, very refreshing at the diversity that has been demonstrated by what the folks wear. While some folks may find exception at some of the symbols that are worn. I am especially glad to see that folks understand that certain symbols can represent more than one thing and can have a different or special meaning to the person wearing it. I fear that too many folks are locked in to what certain symbols mean and abandon them altogether.
This is getting a little long-winded, I know, but I am just so jazzed at seeing the "differences" that I felt like responding.
I also want to say that my wearing of the tattoo is a personal choice and not one that I necessarily promote. Tattoos are very permanent and very personal, to my way of thinking, and not to be taken lightly. Okay, I'll get off of my little soap-box ;) .

I would like to wear something, myself, but I can't as I always wear the same thing round my neck. I always wear my grandmother's wedding ring, which I was given three years ago by my aunty, and which will sit around my neck on its chain until I get married, I hope! Anyway, as it has enormous personal significance for me, I very rarely wear anything else, except my platypus-on-a-chain which I wear every once in a while.
Aside from that, though, I do have a ring with those celtic three-cornered knots on it, which has personal and religious significance and is therefore very handy! :)

I wear 5 rings.
i with amythest, one moonstone, one celticknot (which truth be told is one of my ex-engagement rigns.. but hey I paid the $20 for it) , then jsut 2 others.. and each one stands for something, and everytime I put them on I say them outloud.
For instance, the celticknot one is strength, becasue I made it through the horrible time :)
I also have an assortment of necklaces that I love to wear, unfortunately at work I cannot quite get away with a pentacle... not yet anyway..

Before my turn onto this path, I wore a lovely gold cross with a rose-colored robe draped on it. My mom gave it to me when I got my bachelor's degree. I don't actively wear it, but it's still very special to me and I keep it in a special place. Glad I haven't lost it.
Forgot about the rings. They're not obviously "holy" symbols but I have a moonstone ring and a malachite ring that I wear when I need the specific energy I have charged them with.

Though it's not a holy symbol, I wear my 2001 gold class ring with antiquing religiously. On one side it has 2001 and the company's (?) symbol for graphic arts (t-square, triangle, computer that says GRAPHIC ARTS, keyboard, tower, mouse, a ball thing?, and an urn looking thingy) yes ALL that is on one side. And on the other, my first name, and an eagle swooping down. (wings out, feet out). My high school mascot was a War Eagle. And of course around the stone it has my high school. The stone is a sunburst cut peridot, my birthstone. It's actually the second stone. The first one, somehow became, uncut. It just went from sunburst, to plain. Even the people we took it to to have it fixed don't know how it happened.
I also have a pewter pentacle with cat that I got at a ren faire.
http://www.fellowshipfoundry.com/perl-bin/catalog.cgi?ITEM=P185
I have the lapis, it was either that or hematite. I've had a cat since I was 2 years old. I feel odd not having a cat now that I'm in college. My cat lives with my grandparents. I actually relate more to cats than people.
*the only time I got asked if I was a satanist was when I came into an art class (back in HS), wearing my thundercats shirt, and x-men necklace. Are there no younger generations with respect for the 80's? And there's a bit of a difference between the X-Men symbol and a pentagram.

As far as the ankle bracelet.....when we were in New Orleans my mama-in-law ask me what that thing was on my ankle. I explained it to her. Later I told that her if she wanted for Christmas she could get me a new ankle bracelet. A silver one with the moom phases on it.

There are two pieces I *always* wear, 24/7.
One is my pentagram ring, which I wear on my thumb.
The other is my greenman pendant, wich I wear outside of my shirt. I don't hide either one, and so far nobody but other pagans have ever noticed or commented on them. :)
I have other pieces I add when I feel like it. A big amber ring, lots of various celtic-knot rings (actually, I always am wearing celtic knot rings on my toes, too - one copper, one silver), triskele pendant, an oak tree pendant, kokopeli rings, yin-yang rings...etc. I'm a huge fan of rings. :)

I have a very plain pentacle ring that I've worn for 6 years, and never taken off. If I do take it off, I feel very vulnerable and unprotected...like a part of me is attached to it.
I also used to wear a pentagram necklace all the time, but I had to stop wearing it when I got a job where I was the first person the clients saw....didn't want to scare anyone off, unfortunately.

I too wear my pentacle out most of the time. I think the only time I put it under my shirt is when I know I'm going to be seeing Amber's 'other' grandma. She's the type of person that goes around saying the witches only think they're doing good when they're actually doing the Devil's work. Or something like that. Never mind the fact that I'm not even a witch.
The other jewellery that I always wear, I wouldn't say it's a 'holy symbol' or anything. I have three pendants on a silver chain. One it an amethyst with a snake wrapped around it. Second is a carnelian with a claw holding it. Third is a rose quartz point.
I have four rings that I wear every day.
1. plain signet ring
2. celtic knot with amethyst in the middle
3. solitaire
4. umm.. not sure how to describe it... just a round... stone of some sort that's held in place by the normal sort of claws used to hold stones in place on jewellery...
one day I'll get around to posting a pic of that one and the celtic knot one.

Well, not having a specific religion to speak of, I'm not sure if I'd refer to them as holy symbols, but I do have a few things that I wear all the time that I do consider very important to me.
My engagement and wedding rings - both silver with Celtic knotwork. The engagement ring has an aqua-colored stone that reminds me of my husband's eyes :). The wedding band has a pair of dragons on it - the bands were a perfect find for us, I love Celtic knotwork, he loves dragons, so a ring that incorporates both...
A silver ring that I made in a jewelry class in high school. Just a basic twisted wire ring. Besides being Mine in a way that few other things are (me making it), it has symbolized several things for me over the years, some of them for the wrong reasons, but I got over it. What it means to me now is a reminder that whatever comes - friends may come and go, so may loves - the one person on this earth that I truly HAVE to spend the rest of my life with is ME, so I'd better try to be the sort of person that I can live with that long... :D
Last but not least, a silver Bast head pendant with a tiger's eye sphere on the base. I saw it at a Renaissance Faire and I just had to have it. Even though I'm not sure whether or not I believe in gods and goddesses as more than symbols or concepts, I've been drawn to Bast for a long time. My love affair with cats began at a very young age (six or so - he followed me home) and one of the first books about cats that I got had a part that mentioned felines in Egyptian history. I thought that it was just sooooo danged NEAT that there was once a whole bunch of people that liked cats so much that they were sacred animals. I thought that it made perfect sense that people who harmed or killed a cat might be put to death. :D
Well, that's the lot, but it's far more jewelry than I used to wear.

Only two- a Celtic cross that my Aunt got me, and an Ankh.
The story behind the Ankh was that a few years ago i was seeing this guy, and was diagnosed diabetic during that time. He got me the Ankh as a symbol of health and wellbeing, but when we broke up - he asked for it back. The next week I was in this shop in Dundee that sold all sorts of bizarre wee objects, and among them was the Ankh I now have. The owner was in the business more for enjoyment than money, and when I said I didn't have enough for the chain, he reduced the price so I could buy it.
I also wear my Claddagh ring - although not as a religious symbol. It is very important as it is used to display your marital status.
I used to have a Faith, Hope, and Charity chain that I lost at school - it was cross, anchor and heart pendants on a single chain, and I haven't seen any in recent years to replace it with. It had immense value to me as I got it for my Confirmation.

I forgot about my rings, I wear 4 rings all the time, on my right hand, I wear a think band with 7 small inlaid rubies on my ring finger, and a braided ring with a single ruby on my middle finger. on my left hand, I wear a thin band with crushed turquoise on my ring finger, and a thin band with crushed opal on my middle finger. They have no "Holy" symbolism but the two rubies were given to me by my mother on significant birthdays, and the other two were given to me by my grandmother.

I used to have an ankh ring that I got from the Rosicrucian center in San Jose. I wore it for several years, never taking it off, but this past summer I had an allergic reaction (still don't know to what) that made my hands swell enormously and the doctor in the ER had to cut it off my finger. Luckily I wasn't wearing my wedding ring that day but I was still pretty upset to lose a ring that had special meaning to me. :(
I haven't found any ring to replace it.

I have a pentacle necklace that has of couse a pentacle on one side and yin yang on the other so you can wear it either way. I also have a pentacle ankle bracelet that I only wear in the summer. I don't wear the necklace very much because I'm not supposed to wear any kind of dangly jewelry at work. I work in an automotive factory and stuff like that could get you seriously injured if it gets caught in a machine. I'm tring to find a choker style necklace that I can wear instead. That would be O.K. But I haven't found anything that grabs me yet.

I wore a fairly big pentacle, with a stag's head, and a Rune stone (lagu-- cycles), until the day my son was born. It was just too hard to nurse this big baby around them! I usually wore them outside my clothes, unless it was around someone who just wouldn't understand, or even begin to listen... I've worn my pentacle a couple of times, but ds didn't like me wearing something I don't usually wear. The last time I wore it, he decreed I can wear it when we leave the house!

Hello-
I haven't posted in a long while - been lurking mostly.
Funny this post caught my eye - I lost my pentacle for nearly a year, then about 2 weeks ago while getting the house ready for Solstice, *poof* it reappeared.
I used to wear it all the time, then I went to a swanky party and wore a diamond pendant - that's when the pentacle disappeared. Since I found it, I haven't taken it off!

I used to always wear a small primordial goddess pendant made of silver. She was about 3/4 of a centemetre tall (less than half an inch) and beautiful. Unfortunately, I lost her at a pagan festival I went to this year and haven't seen her since! ::boohoo:: I think I'm going to have to replace her as I miss her so much. I bought her at a store in Halifax, NS and haven't seen the same artist's work anywhere else. (Has anyone else heard of Jane Iris?)
I occasionally wear other spiritual symbols - I have several pentacles of several sizes, a few ankh pendants... it really depends on where I'm going. I also have a few pieces of jewelry I only wear during ritual.
That's it for me!

Due to a long, somewhat personal story that occurred while I was in England, I have a very nice celtic cross that I wear a lot of the time. I've been raised Christian, and still hold some of the ideas, but as has been mentioned with people I trust and in other areas here, my outlook on things have been rather broad and for the first time I'm finding myself not worrying as much about looking into things that I want to learn more about... But I still wear this cross because it makes me feel safe somehow... Maybe it's left over from the reason I bought it, and how I came to find it...
I also will NEVER be found without a 5 stone (3 round 2 baguette (sp)) platinum diamond ring on my left ring finger (until there's something to replace it on that finger ;) ). It was my grandmother's first wedding ring, and she gave it to my mom when she turned 18 and my mom gave it to me when I got my blue belt in karate (I think I was 14).
I know it's not religious but it's one of the few physical things I still have from her now, and it means more to me than almost anything else I own.
If I ever manage to get a digital camera, I will get pix

I wear a necklace I had made. While walking and thinking one day in the woods near my house, I happened apon an egg-shaped stone. It is perfectly egg-shapped, and looks to be made of some quartz looking material. It has really white parts, and dark parts, and when held up to the light it is almost translucent. I had it set into silver pendent. The day I found it I was praying to the Goddess to help me with a problem I've been having and then I found the stone. To me it signifies the Goddess with the egg-shape and is a holy symbol to me. But no-one else knows, except you guys. Whoops! :woah: Ya'll won't tell, right?:D

Greetings everyone -
Love that this thread shows we Pagans are showing our "like mindedness" in our dress and mannerism.
I have several pendants that identify my religious "thoughts" if you will...
Just had someone ask me about my Goddess symbol the other day.
There's also earrings with Rune symbols, stuff for my long hair, a gazillon braclets and rings galore LOL...
But mores the point that the jewelry has a certain "feel" to it - an energy - regardless of the pattern of specific choice.
ANyway - I'm most pleased as I have come to use this as an identification system for OTHER Pagans when I am out and about.
I check out other people's choices in jewelry and I have found many "friends" of like minds from their jewelry.

I so know what you mean Astra...I have this beautiful garnet necklace my mother bought me for my 22nd bday in 1999 that I wear constantly...I call that necklace my power necklace...Garnet is my birthstone, and this necklace is the best setting for garnets that I have seen so far. I also have rings that I wear...like my mood ring, along with my wedding band and diamond, ruby and diamond ring, and an amythyst that my husband bought for me for Xmas. I also have a big beautiful Aquamarine ring that my grandmother bought me a few years ago.
Did I forget to mention I have a weakness for jewlry:D  :smoke:

Wow, some beautiful and interesting jewelry here! :)
I always wear my Eye of Horus, with a little paua shell on the same chain, nestled against it.. the paua shell had a natural hole, I figured if it was the same as a stone, maybe I'll see faeries one day. ;)
I also always wear four rings (though I change a few of them now and then, but not often): my right ring finger is an opal, my birthstone and favorite stone. my right middle is a scarab. my left middle is a frog. and my left ring is another scarab. :)
I have a necklace with my ankh (the White Wolf Vampire ankh to be specific) and a little pentacle on it, so the pentacle sits on the ankh's circle, really neat.. I have a Bast necklace too.. so depends what I wear, sometimes I trade my Eye for Bast.. yada yada... :)

Sometimes, I wear a small pentacle with a stone from my coven hanging from it, but I'm always so paranoid about the stone falling off that I usually only wear it to coven meetings, or if I'm particularily stressed. If I need luck and positive energy(i.e. on exam days, or just in general) I wear a small pentacle ring a good friend of mine gave me.
The rest of the time, I don't really wear much jewelry. If I'm not at work, i usually have a ring or two on, but that's about it. If I didn't look like such a hippy, people'd probably believe I'm a Pagan.

I wear 4 thing of great significance usually. A greenman and a celtic knot pendant and 2 silver rings, one on each pinky.
~a month ago I messed up my left hand and had to take off 1 of my rings due to swelling. I had totally spaced it out till now but thanks to your little reminder I will reconsecrate it tonight so I can wear it again. :)

I have several. All pieces seemed to speak to me, they caught me totally off guard when I was out and about. Never even intended to go looking for them!!!! One is a long florite chrystal. It's a beautiful shade of purple. It is supposed to have healing for bones...boy do I need it!!! The second is a long chrystal that is made of rose quatz and moon stone all wound with silver. The third is a silver celtic knot ring. The fourth is a celtic cross. I want to buy a pentacle, but the right one hasn't jumped out at me yet. When the time is right...I know I'll find it...or it will find me.

It was interesting to read what everyone wears that holds a special meaning for them.
At the moment I only have two pieces of jewelry that I wear almost always. I runic ring of silver and onyx, and a small yin~yang pendant that my best friend in high school gave me over ten years ago.
The other symbol that I always wear is my mandela. I had it tattooed on my back in between my shoulder blades almost three years ago. It has a wolf print in the center for my totem. It holds great meaning for me.

I usually wear a pentacle, tucked under my shirt sometimes or on full display other times. All my pentacles have been given to me by friends and are very dear to me. I usually wear the smallest silver one everyday. Though, on Sabbats I wear a larger gold one.
They mean so very much to me not only religiously but sentimentally because they were gifts from dear friends and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I had a beautiful delicate yinyang ring I used to wear but it wore through and I am unable to get it fixed and have never found another, and I also had a pendant that the center line of the yinyang was a serpent dragon... also worn out now. Haven't found anything yet that I like and am resonant with, but I do keep an amethyst in my pocket:)

I wear two pieces of jewlery all the time.
The first important piece of jewlery is my class ring. I'm only a sophmore in highschool(I graduate in 2005), and this ring means so much to me, although it's not a religious symbol. I paid for this thing by myself ($300.00!!!!)
I also wear a pentacle around my neck. I charged it with spirtuality and protection. It mostly stays tucked under my shirt, but sometimes, I wear it openly. It never leaves my neck, only when I shower of course, but otherwise, it's always there.

I don't really have anything in particular that I "always" wear.. though I do have my pentacle necklace (big wopping 1 1/4" baby!) and a ring inscribed with a Hebrew mantra.. these two things I wear pretty often..
Although, if anyone could help me locate a pendant/talisman in the figure of a weeping willow tree... Now THAT I would wear at all times! I've been fascinated with the willow ever since making a connection between it and the Eightfold Path. Oh yeah.

I have a little white gold pentacle (Very plain, not guady at all) with a chain I wear as well as a matching bracelet made up of 1/4inch pentacles strung together. I don't take the bracelet off--ever. People see it but don't really reconize it for what it is. I usually wear the pentacle, outside my shirt. I'm not particularly shy about my faith.

"This is the Dragon that I wear always." (from first post)
I gave that exact same one to my son!
I personally wear a pentacle..I have a few of them one is just on a black cord (I wear that when I'm just about the house etc) the other is a sterling Celtic Pentacle on my grandmothers silver chain that I wear when I'm out (I dont wear it about the house because I dont want to break the chain and lose it in lets say the washing machine or somehting like that!)
I also wear crystals in a coil around my neck (the crystal i use depends on my need or feeling for the day, more often than not though its amethyst) and I have Goddess of Serenity necklace and a Goddess of the Earth one and a couple of others.....
and no I dont tuck or not show any of them, if someone see's them, someone see's them...

I wear a 3/4" silver pent. Most of the time it's on a box chain around my neck...if I'm at work, however, and my neckline isn't long enough to cover it, I'll pin it to my bra, just above my heart.

I have this beautiful ring I would like to always wear on my thumb, but it is too coppery and turns it colors so I just try to wear it when I can. It's a simple silver band with carvings in it. I would like to get an ankh pendant but I'm not sure when I'll have the money for it.
My everyday jewelry consists of:
One half of a sectioned pendant on a chain. My dad bought it from an air force base and gave it to me on my first day of college. I haven't taken it off since. On one side it has the Air Force symbol and on the other side is a prayer for protection from Genesis. My dad has the other half of the pendant.
I also have my class ring on all the time as well as a beautiful one with a heart shaped black stone in it that was bought for me by one of my dad's friends in New York two summers ago (I love that state).
And then there is my engagement ring...

Yeah, I wear a Pentacle that has the phases of the moon around it:
I wear it on a Dog-tag chain (those cool little ball chains :) )
and almost always wear it out (I went to an amusement park, and I tucked it in, too many people, and I was there to have fun, not defend my beliefs to 50,000 people...)
