View Full Version : Creating an Elemental

Hi.
I've got an awful neighbour, amazingly horrible. I don't want to go into it much, but some of the stuff she has done includes:
Running over a row of small shrubs on our front lawn, using the excuse, 'I was running out of petrol, I had to do a three point turn', when about 10 metres down the road is a place INTENDED for people to turn around.
Trying to run us off the road, by swerving in front of our car, everytime we try to go past her.
Running around, slamming our windows at night.
The list is endless. She has also been terrorizing other neighbours as well, she has even tried to run over a boy on a bike.
We have called the police numerous times, but they are pathetic and don't help at all.
I am going to setup an elemental to act as a warden. I know how to do this, but I was wondering, is there anything that I should do to make it work better, more powerful so on. The way I'm creating it goes as follows:
I'm going to create it out of either earth or fire, and I'm leaning towards fire.
Imagine and shape the elemental with my hands and mind, using fire energy.
Name it and explain it's reason for being created and it's purpose.
Create it's home, and ask it to live in there.
If there's any way to make it more powerful, because, our neighbour radiates A LOT of bad, harmful, negative energy. So much so, that sometimes during meditation sessions and such, I can't do anything, simply because of the negative energy surrounding me.
I can't cleanse the house or anything, because my father scoffs at workings of magick, and spritual energy. It's all very frustrating.
Also, would it be possible to make the elemental actively try and prevent our neighbour from harming us and our property?
And finally, any spells, meditations, herbs, just about anything, that could help us would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If your dad doesn't like it you might use an angel instead - you can do some research on angels and choose one for protection and ask it for help. Angels are common to Christian belief along with many others but are thought to transcend them as well, so they work better in an environment where other magical helpers might disrupt energy or cause problems.

Heh, that doesn't work either, and besides, I'm, sort of, anti-christian. I dunno why, and some of my best friends are christian, but I'm still slightly anti-christian.
My dad doesn't believe in anything. He's a narrow minded idiot who is too afraid to try and\or believe in anything in case it disrupts his little world, which pretty much entails drinking, and listening to loud music. Oh, and believing that nothing I do can ever come close to being as good as he is, and that my intelligence is next to nothing when compared to him, even though he never finished high school, so he has to be condescending about everything.
*deep breath* I don't like my father too much.

Somehow I gathered that ;) I worked with angels when I lived in a "we call ourselves Christian but don't really believe in God" type house and my mate was very very atheist; somehow I guess people don't find angels as threatening as astral beasts, ya know? But whatever works for you :) I think you've got a handle on it and so on, if you're looking for more ideas or info check out Summoning Spirits by Konstantinos (for creating egregores) or search the web, but really you could just ask an appropriate spirit to help out - one friend of mine uses panthers, I use dragons.

I was going to shape the elemental as a Dragon, I dunno why, they're just my 'thing'. Also in Chinese birth year thingies, I'm a Dragon.
They represent fierceness and loyalty to me, two things that I want to combat the negativity coming from our neighbours house. They represent a lot of other things to me, like intelligence and courage but, I'm concentrating on the former traits for now.

I've never done this, although I found Silver RavenWolf's guidance in To Stir A Magick Cauldron (I think) very helpful. I agree with Raevyn that if you decide to proceed, please use extreme caution.
I live in a mobile home complex where we have had a long string of bad managers. One couple in particular were really making my life hell. I simply drew a banishing pentagram in the air every time I drove by the office. Not only were they fired, it was also discovered that they were embezzling from the owner......
I also keep a rosemary plant by my front door for protection. My house has never been burglarized. The undesirable neighbors on one side of me were replaced by a wonderful couple and the house on the other side has had lots of short-term tenants, but all of them have not been any trouble. I also planted crape myrtle on all four sides of the house to ensure that we would always be surrounded by love.
A Native American ritual includes walking around your house with a coil of tobacco and putting up a protective shield.

I prefer to try to protect myself by visualising my home and myself in a bubble of energy, than trying to direct that energy into creating an elemental that I may not be able to control very well! Depending on the situation, I colour the shield differently. One of the most effective protective shields for me is to imagine the outside of the bubble as a mirror. I find that everything is reflected away. I don't use this exclusively though... good vibes get 'bounced' just the same as bad ones!
I like Freyja's idea of the banishing pentagram though. And I have rosemary outside both my front and back door, as well as two small evergreen fir trees (I feel that as they are evergreen, they are ever-vigilant against nasties!)
I also Reiki every room in my house regularly, and especially my doorways. I'm not sure why, but it just feels as though when I walk through my door now I'm in my own sanctuary, and what goes on outside these walls can't come in.

Just gather a posse of people who're fed up with her crap, and threaten her with an appropriate beating. **Shrugs** If the cops respond to that, it's one crazy woman's word against the neighborhood. . . and at least it might clue them in that this is a serious matter.
Normally I wouldn't seriously advocate threats of violence, but it's not altogether a bad idea if this woman's seriously trying to hurt or kill people.

:) Yes, I forgot about Reiki....I also practice cleansing rooms and draw symbols over my doors and windows.
A few years ago, I found an 8-sided mirror in a thrift shop. One of the principles of Feng Shui uses such a mirror to promote harmony within the home. I mounted it on the living room wall, which in a mobile is about the middle of the house and I do feel that its energy does help to balance things.
And brooms.... I have them by the front and back doors and one in the corner of each bedroom.

Just wanted to clear this up, we HAVE tried to get her evicted (she lives in a housing department house) we had a petition which all the people of the neighbourhood (except two) signed and said they want her out of there, and they didn't do anything.
She also has a boyfriend who has been convicted for attempted murder, and his father has been convicted for attempted murder as well. They've both spent at least 10 years in jail, and we have reason to suspect she has been in jail as well.
I have tried visualizing a shield before, sorry that I didn't mention it. It was extremely hard to do. I didn't know about the rosemary (I'm not very good with herbs) but I have found we've got 2 plants in our backyard already.
Freyja: All of our trees are evergreens :D, I live in Australia, so it's hard NOT to find an evergreen tree. I think we've had one tree in our backyard, in my entire life, that was an evergreen.
I've recently created an altar, and I'm going to try some protective incense, and also use the banishing pentagram. But, if all that doesn't work, I'm going to go ahead with the elemental. Wish me luck :D.

Mm. Not all angels are of Judeo-Christian origin. They're spirit servants/messengers/warriors of a deity. Just find the deity with the right temperament to deal with this loonie, and Their angels won't be far behind.

I do wish you luck, and I also like the suggestion of using angels or your patron or other appropriate deity. Personally, I would call upon Thor.
I have used a binding that I found in Starhawk's The Spiral Dance a few times. The intent is only to bind the person from doing harm to themselves or anyone else and not to do them any harm. Starhawk recommends using a poppet and burying it far away from your house. Since I have no place to do that, I put the poppet in the freezer and set the person free by burning or otherwise getting rid of it when the person is no longer a danger.

Good luck. Let us know how this turns out.
