I am in a mess

Ok things have been hard and I am not alone I know that all too well. Bills have gone up alarmingly and being on benefits means I cannot meet the payments.
So some bills will go unpaid this month as we have to pay the heating bill.
We have cut back as far as we can and only have the heating on when we have too. I look forward to cooking dinner as it warms the place up a treat.
I am not whinning I am just worried about making the payments. I am short by £90 and will have to get into arrears so I can hopefully get the firms to put us on a payment plan.
Gas and Electric have to be paid
Water has to be paid
TV is now on the basic package
Insurances are a must
Computer is back to the basic
We have to eat and I am buying in the cheapest foods I can find.

I could do with a hug and some positive energy.

Many hugs your way. You are definitely not alone, but I know that doesn't help. It sounds like you're doing a great job in budgeting! Hopefully soon things will get back to normal and we won't all have to worry so much.

Thanks it means a lot to me.
I sometimes feel like I am battling up stream without a paddle and getting now where fast.
It will get sorted out I do know that it will take a age for it to be anywhere near normal again.
I just need to get through the winter and then I wil be able to see what the winter heating bill is like. With cutting the heating down to half and only having it on when we really need it I am hoping to make a saving there.
Until then I will do all I can to economise.

Have you applied to the social services? Is there a local food bank? I'm getting ready to go to ours in a minute. I lost any shame about it long ago. I work as much as I can, I am very careful with our money and have few luxuries but sometimes we need extra help. You owe it to yourself to get your needs met.

When we're flush I donate, when we're were low I gratefully accept the help we need to keep going.

I'll post some ways to stretch your food dollar in the kitchen section when I get back.

Your situation sounds a lot like mine... I know how frustrating it can be & really hope you can get it all sorted soon!

yes here too, I am at least a month behind on my bills too..
you just have to keep moving forward and try to keep a positive attitutde, things could be and are alot worse for many people,
Be thankful for what you do have, I know easier said then done..
but know you arent alone....I think we are all struggling in one way or another

Well the electric and gas people a re not thrilled but I am not paying the amount they want I am paying what I was and they have to accept it as we are on benefits.
So we are keeping the heating down as much as possible so we will not end up with a huge bill.
One good thing the water board have reduced payments by £2 a month not a lot but hey £2 is £2 and a saving that can go onto the gas and electric.

I am so thankful for all the messages and energy sent out to me, I know I am not alone and there are people a lot worse off than me. You are all amazing people
