Forgive me for checking out with no word but i still had unfinished business to see to, and after that i needed some spiritual connection time to re-charge my batteries...all is wee now and while i may not be around much (Studies) i will try to connect more in the history section of this site...i need to re-emerse myself in constant studying, meditations, contemplations, etc. etc. etc. Love and light to all and may we follow our paths in truth.

Adrian, I know you are researching Egypt. I don't know where you are in Connecticut, but Manhattan is probably not terribly far from you. I used to live in Westchester County, NY, myself, and spent all of my summers growing up in Brookfield, CT. Anyway, I don't know if you've been recently, but the Metropolitan Museum of Art has the most amazing Egyptian Wing. I discovered my goddesses there, and have learned much of the culture and history of the Egyptian people and their deities. I found it a place I could get lost in at least once a week, and in the summer, when I was done with the heavy stuff, a walk over to Cleopatra's Needle in Central Park to read about Ramses II was always fun as was the Street Performers and Sunday concerts.

Here is a link to my favorite exhibit, the temple of Dendur. http://www.metmuseum.org/collections/view1.asp?dep=10&item=68%2E154

i'll check it out as soon as i finish this mail. I have been to the museum and i can spend all of my time there in the Egyptian wing,
i've never heard of Cleopatras Needle??? Is it still there? I think maybe i'll take a drive there this coming weekend.
I live in Bridgeport but as anupu guides me i will be in Tampa Florida in a year. thanks again, and Virginia Beach is also on my list of places to go this summer, camping at First Landing and visiting the A.R.E. (association for research and enlightenment).
Em Hotep my friend may Sekhmet keep you strong.

Adrian, I am soooooooo bad with directions, but I'm gonna give this a try. When you leave the Met, make a right on 5th and enter the park at the very first opportunity- where the playground with the bear sculptures is. Follow the path that leads behind the museum, it's not a long walk, really. The path will take you alongside the New Guinea side of the Museum and winds up behind the museum. Keep on the path that is perpendicular to the museum. The needle is a giant obelisk, and you will see it from a distance. It is on a slight hill behind the Met and a little to the right. It's visible from the museum in the winter. It's like 70 ft tall, so it's pretty hard to miss.

The bronze crabs on display near in the Temple of Dendur exhibit are the original crabs that were found at the base of the obelisk. Copies were made for the needle, which is original, in the park. A lot of hyrogliphics on the needle are in tact, and the text is facinating. It rambles on about how Ramses II was blessed by the gods, especially Horus. http://www.centralpark.org/home.html This is a link to the map of the park, and if you use the locator, there is a great picture and some of the history of the needle.

Good luck on your journey. As it is where my greatest interest lies as well, please keep me informed about your findings. Em Hotep.
