Venus Retrograde

:( A friend just told me that Venus is currently retrograde, and I've lost her e-mail. She mentioned that it negatively effects our emotions. So I guess Mercury Rx helped me not get a job (I studied up on this thanks to Methanespirit and it looks like it is a good thing I didn't get one because this is not a good time for new beginnings anyway) and Venus will help me cry about it?

Does anyone have further information?

Well I didn't enjoy Mercury's retrograde much... I have a feeling I probably don't want to know what the Venus retrogade is going to bring!

Welcome to the Vedic Sky October 2002!

First I must apologies to all our members that I had missed the deadline last month.

Well, this is the festival month in India. First, worship of goddess Durga and then Deepawali, the festival of light and fireworks. In Bengal they will worship Durga and Kali and rest of the country, it will be the worship of goddess Laxmi or wealth on the Deepawali day. In fact the festival season's begins now and all around the world across different culture, and different religion, this is the festive part of the year.

The Vedic sky as on 1st October is rather fuzzy.

Mercury is retrograde and will remain so till 6th October. Don't be surprised, if your computers are giving problems and the mails are getting lost. This will be all right after 6th. But let me give the bad news first - Venus and Saturn both will get retrograde by the middle of the month. Venus will be retrograde on 11th. What happens when Venus gets retrograde? One either becomes sexual celebrant or a sexual celibate.

Not my words, but the words of a famous Vedic astrologer in America. So beware and have more patience in your relationship front, and do not get put off by partner's unusual behaviors.

Saturn will get retrograde on 12th October 2002. When Saturn gets retrograde, things get delayed and trivial obstacles come in your way. But do not loose hope because Saturn may cause delays, but it never denies.

Venus will become direct only on 21st November 2002. Saturn will become direct only on 23rd February 2003.

Don't panic because this happens every year. During this time, these are the two big news astrologically speaking for this month.

Sun moves into Libra as per the Vedic sky on 18th October 2002. Libra is the sign of debilitation for Sun.

Don't be too sensitive, because your ego is likely to get hurt very easily during this period. Debilitated Sun may also have a tendency to defocus you from your basic goal in life.

The good news is Jupiter is reigning strong in his sign of exaltation. Its positive and expansive spirit is the antidote for all the negative vibrations of debilitation and retrogression of other planets mentioned earlier.

Mars will enter Virgo, the 6th sign of the zodiac. You can utilize the excess energy of Mars either for healing or for enmity, fight and struggle with your opponents. Start looking at the glass as half full instead of as half empty. That should be the mantra for all of us during this festival month when goddess Durga kills the demon. This demon is inside us only.

The demon, which gives us fear, insecurity and depression and takes away our positive spirit. So let's surrender to the mother and let her liberate us form the demon inside us.

This retrograde period especially favors taking time and space for yourself, to feel your feelings. Especially if there is anger, just recognize and honor the hurt feelings that are underneath. Just by recognizing and honoring them, you create inner peace.

In a relationship that begins or ends during this time, you could think you are dealing with Luke Skywalker, but he turns out to be Pee Wee Herman. Or vice versa. It's a good time to experiment, but moving too fast and overwhelming yourself before you know what's going on is also a possibility. Just tune into your instincts for guidance. If you feel unsettled within yourself, jumpy, or nervy, give yourself some time and space to breathe and think before taking action.

Finances
This cycle is always a fantastic time to review and reevaluate the ways you make and spend money. When Venus resumes direct motion, you will have a better idea where adjustments are needed.

This can be a poor time to make a major purchase, as the true worth of an item becomes difficult to assess. Again, what is the reality? Is there a true urgency? Do you have to buy now, or can it wait? You may regret extravagant spending when the retrograde period ends.

However, if you know the market well, you might be able to find terrific bargains, as sellers are also under the influence of retrograde Venus and might not realize the value of an object or property. You will do well if you will look beyond surface appearances. For example, you might find a fantastic piece of furniture and get a great deal on it because it is painted an ugly color. Delays in delivery of expected objects or money, as well as legal matters, may be blessings in disguise.

Beauty
Venus also represents our aesthetic tastes. If you are thinking of redecorating or significantly altering your appearance, you may also do well to postpone any major decision or action until the retrograde passes, because your tastes at this time are likely to be out of synch with your normal patterns. This is a good time to browse haircuts in magazines or new color schemes for your living room, but wait to make the final decision if you can. You might decide you like red lipstick during Venus retrograde, but when it's over, you decide you look much better in pink.

This time has terrific mojo for reevaluating your things for their inner worth and beauty. For a good time, clean out the closets or garage. That old chair that belonged to your dear Aunt Lucy, or the ring your ex-lover gave you, any objects that brings back hurtful memories or is no longer useful to you. Unburdening yourself of these objects creates space in your life for new and exciting things to enter after the retrograde period ends.

Above all, do not be frightened by the retrograde cycle of Venus. It happens every year and a half, so rest assured you have already survived it many times! Astrology is the study of cycles: all of them useful, some difficult, but none inherently bad. Going along with the energy, taking advantage of the opportunities it offers, makes for a smoother ride and pleasant surprises.

Venus is always a "benefic" planetary force, whether it is forward or retrograde. That is, unless it is afflicted with a malefic such as Mars and/or Saturn, also Pluto in this case. The moon with Venus, whether it is transiting or a progressed one, usually brings on melacholia, and a need for friendships with close compionship. In a woman's chart, Moon to Venus combinations are conducive to her becoming aware of her beauty and desirablebess. It is a good time to improve her appearance. It has been observed that a Moon to Venus aspect especially the conjunction, in a woman's nativity indicates a self love, with lots of attention to her appearance, show models, for an example. oh gee, and I thought the past 4 weeks were all cause of the medication.... ad a venus RX Holy cow man, yes I was in a deep depression, I mean I couldnt even get out of bed... then I get the med switched back, the med thing coincided with the venus rx, now im a lot better and looking at a few new opprotunities in new england this month :)

venus goes direct on the 21st of November so that should be one wowser day :)
