Wombat Boi
December 15th, 2008, 03:53 PM
Hello!

I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on this. For a long time I've felt a very, very strong pull to visit Australia - long before I recognized that my particular totem animal is the wombat. Understandably though, since then it has strengthened.

However, my only attraction is not just to see a real live wombat (there are at least 3 zoos in North America that have captive wombats). It's mostly to visit the land itself and to exist there and experience it.

I'm not entirely sure when I'll get the opportunity (I've been trying to arrange a study abroad thing as it's the only way I'll ever be able to afford it in the near future) but every time I think of Australia I feel the pull. I feel a connection and it's been tugging away at me for as long as I can remember.

Has anyone felt anything similar? What could be causing this? Is there anything I should be looking into? Thanks. :]

Geomantic Resonance...simply said...:uhhuhuh:

"The origins of the Inca are shrouded in mystery and mythology. According to their own mythology, the Inca began when Manco Capac and his sister, Mama Occlo, rose out of Lake Titicaca, having been created by the Sun and the Moon as divine founders of a chosen people. Manco Capac and his sister then went off with a golden rod to find a suitable location to found a great city. Through a series of adventures, geomantic resonances, and astronomical correspondences, the site of Cuzco was chosen."

Hey, I have those too! ;) Though, for me, it's been Ireland and Wales. I'm not sure if mine is triggered by pictures or movies or whatnot. I've never been to either country, but my parents went to Wales before I was born.
I personally have no idea what causes this, but I'd definitely consider Shawn Blackwolf's answer. Here's a link I found with some info. I haven't read it all yet, but it looks interesting.

I'm really glad you posted this thread! I'll be watching the comments on this one! :hahugh:

I've had them to. In my case I was able to make the trip and Iwould say if there is any way for you to get there by all means do it. Its worth the money it may take to get there.

I had that same pull to go to Finland. I was lucky enough to be able to visit for a couple of weeks and travel around, and even though I ran out of time before I was able to visit the area I feel the most pull to, it was one of the best experiences of my life thus far. If you get the chance, don't miss it! Perhaps the land or the spirits of the land have something to offer you - who knows. Australia is a fascinating place, nonetheless. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful experience when you get the chance - not if, when. :)

Same here. I've spent a vast majority of my life feeling a tug from Ireland. I'll attribute it, partially, to being only three generations removed from that beautiful country, but before I even knew I was Irish, I wanted to go there. I'd probably be perfectly content to just move there.

I find myself drawn to England and other Celtic countries a lot. Partially ancestory but also I think it's based on past lives. BUt I'm drawn to so many countries and continents, I don't know where to begin.

I've felt very drawn to Egypt, the Baltic States (mostly Estonia, my homeland!), Scandinavia (mostly Sweden), Siberia (not Russia but the lands behind the Ural Mountains), Tuva, Mongolia, Africa, Switzerland, New Zealand, the Near & Middle-Eastern countries, Japan, the UK (mostly England, Wales & Ireland), France, Australia and strangely to the cold places like the North Pole, Antarctica & Greenland.

Then I somewhat feel a bit drawn to Austria too. Must be due to the fact that my parents travelled to that place and took me with them when I was a baby. Then ever since I watched the Anne of Green Gables movies I've wanted to see Prince Edward Island in Canada. I'd love to see Greece too.. I've felt some sort of a pull to that place since I was a bit younger.

I'm absolutely fascinated by Romania mostly because of the vampire legends!<3

I was in Greece 2 times,I felt philosophically drawn to it,because my favourite philosopher is Platon.Also my soul is egyptian.Real life speaking my blood is half finnish(Helsinki,my father's side) half romanian(from my mother's side).And beleive me there are TRUE stories and art and another fascinating sights,but they remained mysterious and hidden from foreigners eyes,because of the evil(so I would not say stupid) Dracula thing,created by an author who never travelled to Romania in his life.It's funny in a way.But he was fascinated by the mystery,he considered it obscurity,and wrote the book.Gook luck to reach all the places you are drawn to,it is good to do so,you may find enery pieces of yourself from another lives!:)If you want to talk about Egypt,I welcome you :)I got material,photos,papyrus.Free exchange of experience.:)

I felt this way when I first stepped onto Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in SD. I nearly wept because I felt such a connection. It sounds stereotypical but I know people here will understand when I say I felt the wind like voices blowing through me.

At a moment at dusk when I was alone, I could hear those voices. I knelt down and touched the ground and it vibrated with spirits (I am not sure how else to describe this). It is definitely a sacred place. The white people with me didn't feel a thing.

I brought home a small stone that I keep in a little carved wood box on my dresser. When I walk by in the quiet of the morning or evening, I swear I can hear whispers coming from that box.

Ask your relations about what I teach...

In your tradition...various names for parts of it...

Spider Woman's Language , Copper Woman's Language ,
or Book Covered With Cro Faythur...the Elders shall know...

By number , in our language...one of our many "Sacred
Numbers" , is 2212...

Hearing = 255

Voices = 530

On = 100

Wind = 214

Spiret = 347

Helpers = 455

Gift = 310

= 2211

And , our number for "Ancestral Memory"...is 1...

Add that to 2211...and understand your gift...

Just so you know...:thumbsup:

If you are really serious, you could try woofing.

You live with a host family and work on their farm. Tanya on MW has such a farm (hers is organic), and I believe she is in Australia. To get in touch with the organization, go to:

Good luck, and have fun!

I've been fortunate enough to travel extensively and found many places (particularly Japan) fascinating. There are some places both near and far that we go back to over and over again as a matter of tradition, or to meet friends.

Somehow, though, a coppiced glade about a mile from home, and a turf-cut maze on a hill about fifteen miles away are the places to which I'm most strongly drawn. The maze is famous, but the glade I found after feeling an 'urge' similar to what's being described here. Astoundingly, I'd lived here for fifteen years before 'finding' this particular piece of woodland and hence the glade. So if you can afford to indulge an urge of this type, my advice would be to do so. Okay, in my case it was simple, but if it were that simple, why did it take me fifteen years?

All my life I have had a desire to go to the Isle of Lewis off northern Scotland. The place has always held a fasination for me. Yet, Ironically I lived in Scotland for 2 years and everytime I tried to go there something would happen to prevent it. As I think about it the same occured every time I tried to go to Loch Ness as well.

Yet just before I left to be stationed in Scotland I found out that my family origin (mother's side) is on the Isle of Lewis. They (Morrison family) were reputed to have been shipwrecked there and that was how the family line came to be there. Their crest being a castle like structure sitting on driftwood pulled from the ocean.

The desire still burns to go there but i'll admit after all this time I do not think I shall ever get there. When your on the door step and don't make it I find it's even harder to do so from far away.

I feel this way toward Scotland, especially the northern parts. I was lucky, spent some days there with my primary school (they organised travels). Those few days were the most peacefull in my life:)

I'm drawn to several places. In the U.S. I'm a frequent visitor to New Orleans, Sedona, AZ and Taos, NM. I'm not too fond of the desert yet Sedona calls to me often.

Outside of the U.S. I'd like to explore the U.K. and Greece.

I have had them for a long long time. i was able to go visit England 10 years ago and was very happy to go. But I had to come back, and now I'm thinking of it again. This insane need to if nothing else, contact a person living there.

Going to my chosen place did not appease the need. The fact I had to leave was heart-wrenching. And the burn is back. ~sighs~

If you have the pull, and you can manage it, stay there!

Yes, I've had the same pull for years ... mine is to Alaska. I'm not sure why because I live in a place with long, severe winters and I don't like it much. So why Alaska? All I know is I watch and read everything I can get my hands on about it and we've made plans to go after we retire in 10 years or so. I'm absolutley fascinated by it.

I'm going to plop my input into this thread even though it probably has little value. :bigblue:

I know slightly how you feel. I've recently had a thing for whales; not spiritually to be honest, but just a passionate streak for finding information on them. This also comes with my ambition to see real whales within my lifetime.

But, spiritually, I have a very strong attachment to Europe, mostly the Germanic areas and slightly beyond. This is very much so because of my heritage which I take pride in--obviously of a partly German origin. If I ever got the chance to visit Europe, I think I might never want to leave. I don't know if I could just adjust to the weather, but I'll just have to deal with it. :hahugh:

Japan for me. I've been here for 5 years and it's finally time to come home. If you have the resonance, go for it, don't question it.

It will change your life.
