An off-duty New York City police officer is accused of accidentally shooting his wife in the groin at their suburban home.
Police say the woman is recovering from her injuries at a hospital near their New Rochelle apartment, a town about 22 miles northeast of the city.
Police say her husband, Humberto Arboleda, is charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault in the Friday morning shooting.
They say he was "fooling around with his gun" when it accidentally went off.
Women have groins? I wasn't aware of that. :whatgives:
Oh, and: "To Protect and Serve™"

Definition of Groin
Groin: In anatomy, the area where the upper thigh meets the trunk.
More precisely, the fold or depression (http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=342) marking the juncture of the lower
abdomen and the inner part of the thigh.
Other than that , forget the "Protect and Serve"...
He is just an Idiot...and should not have a gun...
Until he gets a brain...:uhhuhuh:

Aw, poor fella had a premature discharge.
Er... Yeah, he's an idiot, and thank god she'll be ok.
Oh, and: "To Protect and Serve™"
Hmmmm... Well, this wasn't really abusing his position unless you count that all NYPD are licensed to own handguns off duty. Though it's very hard for a civilian to get said license here. They also go through extensive firearms training... there's just no excuse for such recklessness from anyone. So we're people too! I promise never to shoot my wife in the groin. :uhhuhuh:

It just goes to show that even government agents can do bad stuff with guns, so letting only them have guns isn't going to eliminate all gun crimes/accident.s :uhhuhuh:

That's why people in general shouldn't have guns. I think tazers are sufficient.
Either that or we might as well go anarchy and shoot each other at will and I can move to the middle of nowhere and train attack wolves. :toofless:

Attack bears !
It takes a bear , when chasing you , only a few seconds , to cover
the ground , from when you see them , till they are on top of you !
Though wolves are my Clan...

It wouldn't be the first I've heard of using a gun in that manner.

Accidents happen. For instance..I dropped a gun on my foot once..luckily it didn't go off because umm..my head wouldn't be attached.
