Hi all, I would ask for you to please keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers right now.
On Saturday afternoon my mom and dad went out Christmas shopping and my sister was at work.
The previous owners of the house had installed a light in the basement (ironically, this used to be my bedroom before I moved out of the house) that they had not grounded properly. The light shorted and caught fire between the basement and the first floor. Unfortunately, the pilot light was out on the water heater, so the fire was fired further by natural gas leaking into the basement.
The entire first floor burned, very hot. Our two family pets, Jade (my sisters kitty) and Holly (our family dog) tried to hide from the fire by going upstairs and hiding under my mothers bed. The firemen (informed by my mother’s wonderful neighbor) found the pets and took them out of the house. The firemen put them both on O2 and took them to the pet ER.
Hares a picture that was in our local paper, the fireman is giving my poor little baby dog O2

Unfortunately, both Jade and Holly had to be put to sleep. They suffered severe smoke inhalation, and their lungs were damaged badly. I was just relieved that they did not die alone in the fire. To say that this destroyed me and broke my heart would be an understatement.
This is Jadekins, my sisters much beloved fur baby:

I would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to keep my family in your thoughts,. Especially my mother, who blames herself for the loss of our fur babies.
They have nothing, and it is only by the kindness of the Red Cross and the United Way, (as well as the condo management company, who very kindly donated money to them for new clothes and food) that they can buy new clothes and food, the condo is a total loss, and it will take months to rebuild it.
*sigh* I just can’t believe it, this is the sort of thing you read about and I guess you never expect will happen to you.
Anyway, any thoughts, positive energy and prayers you can send our way would be highly appreciated
thanks all.
