Just thought I would pass this along!

---------------------------------------------------
ROLL YOUR OWN BLACK OUT
THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER
JUNE 21, 2001 THURS EVE,
7-10pm worldwide, all time zones
---------------------------------------------------
In protest of the current energy policies and lack of emphasis on
efficiency, conservation and alternative fuels, there will be a
voluntary rolling blackout on the first day of summer, June 21 at 7pm -
10pm
in any time zone (this will roll it across the planet).

It's a simple protest and a symbolic act. Turn out your lights from
7pm-10pm
on June 21. Unplug whatever you can unplug in your house. Light a
candle to
the sungod, kiss and tell, make love, tell ghost stories, or whatever
you
want to do instead of watching television. Have fun in the dark.

Forward this email as widely as possible.

Let them know we want global education, participation and funding in
conservation, efficiency and alternative fuel efforts -- and an end to
over
exploitation and misuse of the earth's resources.

Yup, I use candles every night too :) I'm out here in California where we're having MAJOR energy problems. Last week we hit near 100 temperatures so rolling blackouts have already started. Since I use alot of candlelight in the evening anyway I'm sure my neighbors are always wondering if I just haven't been paying my electric bill, lol! Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on :)

Do it in the dark!

Do that Hoo-Doo that you do sooooooo well. (Blazing Saddles) :D

I usually have low wattage light bulbs or candles anyway. I have problems with bright like. Oh, my gosh, and I ate after midnight! Maybe that is why I have such a hairy back!

I burn a candle in my home 24/7; I get the 7 day candles and when one gets real low, I just light the next one from its flame using a stick of incense. :)

Blue

I hate bright lights too blue! Sometimes I think I'm part vampire, he-he! I often cook entirely by candleight (other than the stove of course), especially during this time of the year when there's daylight coming through the windows until almost 9 pm. I think it adds to the magick of cooking and I can imagine myself being back in the days of old. :)

ENERGY CRISIS?

The Shrub says a Tax Cut will be the best way to deal with the
energy crisis.
Surprise, surprise, talk about Johnny One Note.
Oh yes, I have finally seen the light, a tax cut will cure world
hunger, and help the blind to see, and the lame to walk.
Hallelujah....let's give our money to evangelical idiots!
