Gunman: 'If You're Not A Christian You're Going To Die'

BOULDER, Colo. -- A 24-year-old ski lift operator who fatally shot the general manager of the Eldora ski area was determined to kill co-workers who weren't Christian, according to court records obtained Thursday.

The documents, filed Wednesday in Boulder District Court, said witnesses told authorities that Derik Bonestroo walked into a building at work, fired a gun into the ceiling and said: "If you're not Christian, you're going to die."

Ah man..if only he'd said "Christian" maybe he'd still be alive.

My condolences are with the family. To be honest this is why I'm nervous wearing pagan jewelry, because of freaks like this. Glad the bastard is dead though.

PS.

What would Jesus do?

Slap him a few times saying that his name is no cause for being a douche.

My, my. What a 'Christian' thing to do.

Apparently his cat wasn't Christian either.

As horrifically violent as this was, I'm gonna have to guess that dude had some mental "issues."

They did mention finding medication back at his apartment, along with said dead cat.

Sad, all the same. For everyone.

I'm not clear on this... did the dude shoot the manager because he admitted he was Catholic instead of Christian ;)... or just because the dude was freaking nutso?

This is why more non-christians should be concealed weapons carriers.

Or as a hate crime fanatic. Either way he imposed his opinion on others through force. Last time people did that they marched into Poland wearing jackboots.

Good grief. My heart aches for the murdered man's loved ones. :(

It's times like this that make me ashamed to say that I do follow a Christian path.

Sometimes people get shot by nutballs *because* they are Christians. Sometimes just the opposite. Don't use this event as an excuse to slam Christians, please.

Yes I know that. That wasn't my question.

Thats just sad. The fact that the guy was insane in every meaning of the word does not help things. The person he shot is still dead. I seriously can not understand when things like this happen.

This. It's not about moral superiority of one religion or another -- though it might be about the moral superiority of people who are insecure in their spirituality. No, this case was about a freakin' crazy-ass nut, pure and simple.

Then rephrase your questions to be more clear in the future because I saw choice A and choice B. I commented on Choice A. Don't care about anything else.

The point you say PB didn't need to clear up is the point I was making. My response was more tongue-in-cheek (or sarcastic) while I'm usually as straight-forward as PB was in his response. Apparently neither way of making the point is good enough?
