Hey im just wondering about dieities in general, every where I read I read about the triple godess <youth, mother, crone> and the horned one. Now how does this relate to dieities? Does the triple godess embody the dieity you have chosen? Same with the horned one? Or are they all sperate entities? If this sounds really confusing, just tell me so, I cant think of another way to put it.

Good question...I would thing that the triple goddess is just 3 part of one diety...

Most people think of them as "different faces of the same entity". That is, you might work with a maiden, mother, crone, and think of them as the faces of Goddess you connect with, whereas I might call Aset as the face of the Goddess I like. Many believe all the names and such are just facets of the whole and that we all connect with divinity in our own way.

I agree with you Raevyn. Im many ways I see the triple Goddess as the christians see the holy trinity. (Comes from being raised in a christian home) 3 separate enitites but as one at the same time.

P.S. Sean there are no stupid questions at all, feel free to ask anything here, ok? I think your question was a good one and something I had to think about too!

In some cases I believe that the Triple God/dess is 3 parts of the same.. and in others.. 3 different God/desses altogether but mashed into one, I guess.

Like Artemis, Hestia, Hecate. Something like that. It's 4:30am and I've not slept yet.. I'm a smidge fuzzy.

And the Triple God. As in.. Maiden/Prince, Mother/Father, Crone/Sage. Easy-peasy, I guess! Just me.. yeah..

Oohh.. I'm so fuzzy.. I'll try again when I'm awake unless I made some sense. *just watched Kate and Leopold and Bicentennial Man*

MM, Sean! As Raevyn said, no question here is silly. I hope that you are finding the board informtive and comfortable to ask your questions.

I see the Triple Goddess as the same entity. The phases of the moon are a good comparison for the Triple Goddess. The moon has three phases: waxing, waning, and full. Even though each phase appears different to our eye, each phase is a part of one thing: the moon. (oohh, I hope that my explanation is making some sense.) You can compare these phases of the moon to the maiden, mother, crone aspects of the Triple Goddess.
