Greetings to one and all!
I have been a longtime lurker and serial reader, joined, then still never posted! But I do love this site and all the wonderful people and awesome knowledge and resources to be found here. It's a true treasure.
I'm Share. I currently live in Vermont, but grew up in Wisconsin and have lived all over the US. I have a soon to be 3 yr. old son....Seth.....or AKA itty bitters and a husband of unknown origin. One day....he just was .....there. I didn't have the heart to throw him out. Yet.
My dad and family was very heavily into Penecostal crazy Apolstolic Christanity. My dad was a minister in one of those basement church types. You know baptizing in bathtubs kinda thing. I won't go into deep detail at the moment, but it was a huge mind f*ck if you ask me. I always felt pulled and called towards the occult, metaphysical, Otherworld, faeries and the Night. When I was 18 I found some books on Wicca, I was pretty excited. Thought I had found "it" But spirituality is always a journey.
I always felt something very lacking and off in Wicca...for me anyways. Something was missing....something extremely vital and VERY important. I wandered, read, grew into something I just felt in my gut and primal instintcs. Learned to trust that. Then came across many writing of Traditional Witchcraft. Now that was IT. It all came together in a heady dreamlike rush.
I'm a loner (Hermit) type for the most part, always have been. I much prefer to spend the majority of my time alone. Thinking, reading, writing, listening to the wind in the trees speak sort of thing. I do immensely enjoy friendships and my loved ones. I just need much space and much more alone time than your average person. That can of course be problemtic when you have a life!
I graduated college with a degree in English Literature. My main passion and love are BOOKS BOOKS and more BOOKS!! I am a nutty bibliophile! I love them to read, collect, smell, just look at and I am at my most happy when totally surrounded by them. Nothing in my life can make me happier. I also have a lifelong love affair with libraries, bookstores and especially those old out of the way used book stores! I adore the scent of old books. *sigh*
My 2nd passion and intense love is Tarot. I was always drawn to the cards from a very young age. When I was 14 I started saving my pennies to get the world renowned Rider-Waite-Smith deck. I had of course to be very very sneaky about it. My parents destroyed I don't know how many books of mine on Wicca, Witchcraft, Occult, Paganism...etc. They would at times burn them other times just toss them out. PISS ME OFF! Also they loved destroying any music they thought was "bad". So I had to hide EVERYTHING. Including the real me. OOps going off on a rant there.
Anyways, yes Tarot is a lifelong love too! I collect, read, study and am pretty much obsessed with all things Tarot and oracle. I have read professionaly at cafe's, bars, fairs and randomly at parks and on the street. I LOVE to read the cards. They are my trusted advisors, friends....an intimate coversation always comes about when I talk with my cards. Right now I have around 500 decks. :woah:
OK before this gets too long.....that's me in a walnut shell! I am looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing all that we can.
