Just one question.....I've been looking for a job and it's going very very slowly. I think my Master's Degree is actually hurting me. I came across a job in kind of a strange way through a customer who comes into the restaurant. He just started a new business and needs a secretary. It would be part time and not a lot of money, but I can start this week and it's more than I've got! It's an hour away from where Flar and I are going to live, BUT, it's in the town I live in now, so I'll be there frequently to check on my son, who'll stay in my house. It would be immediate money and also give me time to think about whether I want to continue my freelance business or pursue another career opportunity that's been put out to me. I'm just looking for confirmation as to whether it's the right thing to do. Thanks so much!
Freyja,
I used the Robin Wood Tarot for your reading. I drew four cards – the first to represent the situation, the second – what hinders you, the third – what will help you, and the fourth – the final outcome.
The first card I drew was the 8 of Cups. This card pulls you to accept a deeper truth about your job-search. It can signify weariness, lethargy, a feeling that you have little energy left. The card shows a man walking away from 8 golden goblets, and starting to walk up a deep hill. You appear to be struggling with your search, and you are having to leave behind preconceptions you have about the sort of job you need. What you have been doing with your career before needs to be left behind – you have reached the time you need to move on, with a fresh outlook. You know this, instinctively, but we humans are adverse to changes, aren’t we?!
The second card I drew was the Tower. It’s change, again. I don’t believe that change itself will hinder you, but perhaps your fear of it is holding you back. The energy of this card is powerful and life-changing, and it is not one that is easy to deal with. However, changes are necessary to avoid stagnation, and not all changes cause heartache or pain. We fear the unknown, taking that leap into the darkness, but it can be the most liberating of all acts.
The third card is the 6 of Staves – You’re going to make it, Freyja, and you must keep in your mind that a good result will come to you. You will triumph! This card is not the winning situation of a tournament or game, but the success that will come when the parts of your life come together for the best result for all. Keeping this in mind will help the goal find you – get those positive thoughts coming!
The final card I drew was the Lovers – not unexpected, as your love and devotion to Flar shines through these boards like a brilliant ray of sunshine! You are following a path that leads you to communion and commitment to your lover. This is your true goal… the goal of acquiring a new job is a step on the path to the fulfilment of this wonderful relationship.
Freyja, these cards are extremely strong, and I feel you have to let go of past ideas and preconceptions. If this job allows you to keep an eye on your son, and still commit to Flar, then it may well be the right one. OR it may be the stepping-stone to the right job. Keep your eyes on your true goals, which seem as though they are more to do with your relationships than with a career. You have a hill to climb, but you will triumph! Keep that thought with you as much as you can. Your heart is strong, and filled with love – this gives you more strength than you think you have.
Freyja, I hope that this is helpful. I haven’t used my RW deck for a while, but the images seem very strong to me right now, and I hope it was the right deck to use!
Be strong – you are moving in the right direction.
With love to you and yours,
Nina
