MINNEAPOLIS – Arctic air extended its grip Wednesday with below-zero temperatures stretching from Montana to northern New England and frost nipping the Gulf Coast.
A few ski areas in Vermont and northern Minnesota closed for the day because of the cold — 38 below zero at International Falls, with the wind chill during the night estimated at 50 below.

Now that is COLD!! :damncold: I live in Nova Scotia, and it rarely gets like that even here!
Hope everyone stays warm and is careful about frostbite and such.

I WISH we could have a great big snow storm here. IT would keep down the bugs in my garden. We have a natural grub removal from the yard every time we mow the yard though. The birds leave the feeders and pull them up by the truck load.

I know the feeling. It was 80+ the last couple of days.

God yes. I'm in Vermont and had many errands to run today. It was SO cold! I really bundled up my son and I though, and warmed up the car for 15 minutes so it was toasty.
But it was a relief to get home ....snug and warm. I am NOT going out for days now lol. It's supposed to be like this through the weekend.

We are struggling with this cold. Our area hasnt seen this bad of cold in over 13 years.
Its hard and our biggest concern is our livestock. SO far they have been hanging in there.
We hope they make it till this extreme weather breaks. Farmers around here expect to loose a few livestock as people can only do so much to help them.
We can tell which of animals are the strongest. Some dont even appear effected by this cold but a few are having a hard time. Those we are worried about and increased their warmed beet pulp/molasses mix feed.
